The CHP has long advocated against corporate welfare. We don’t believe that governments should use taxpayer dollars to prop up failing corporations or to bribe successful ones to locate their businesses in our country or province . . . in order to gain political points with voters. Apparently, the Prime Minister thinks differently.
A flag means something. A national flag is a symbol of national identity, honouring our country, our heroes and our history. The rainbow-coloured ‘pride flag’ is a symbol of national decay.
“Your papers, please.” A traveler may hear this as he moves about in a police state. Papers are dutifully produced, approved and, hopefully, the traveler moves on.
Last Tuesday morning, I had breakfast with the Prime Minister . . . well, I breakfasted in the same room, but we never exchanged glances or business cards. We were both in attendance at the Canadian National Prayer Breakfast in Ottawa . . .

On May 14, Prime Minister Trudeau announced the beginning of four by-elections: Notre-Dame de Grâce—Westmount (QC), Oxford (ON), Winnipeg South Centre (MB) and Portage-Lisgar (MB). Notably, he did not call the by-election in Calgary Heritage (AB), probably due to the Alberta provincial elections scheduled for May 29.
