The Supreme Court of Canada has refused to hear a freedom of speech case brought by Quesnel, BC teacher Dr. Chris Kempling in a dispute with the British Columbia College of Teachers.

Canada is at a crucial point in our history. The very survival of constitutional democracy is at stake. But none of the parties we have elected to Parliament in the past has been willing to set aside the quest for power long enough to save the Constitution.

There's been a flurry of news this week about Conservatives pressuring CHP candidates to quit. One of the most poignant stories comes out of Saskatoon, where supporters of Maurice Vellacott have been haranguing CHP candidate Dale Sanders.

Before any more awards are given to the pro-'gay' movie Brokeback Mountain, the award-givers ought to make a posthumous award to Nazi film-maker Leni Riefenstahl.
