​May 17, on “International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia”, the Liberal government introduced Bill C-16—draft legislation to grant full civil rights to transgendered persons. What could possibly be wrong with that?

There are times when a person must be willing to stand alone. This is one of those times.

​Fort McMurray, once a vibrant and bustling city, took quite a hit from the drop in oil prices, but more than 80,000 people still lived and worked there until last week. In a matter of a few days, Fort McMurray became a vacant, burned-out shell.

​Last week, the Ontario Provincial Police arrested 80 individuals in connection with child pornography and other illegal activities including the sexual abuse of children. Kudos to them! May they continue to root out this evil and may they be successful in prosecuting the offenders.

​Years ago, when the CHP began, many people recognized the need for salt and light in the political realm. Our heritage, which recognized all people as valuable, had come under assault, and many in the church roused to step into what was seen by many as the ‘dirty’ realm of politics.

Last week, the Liberal governments (both Canada and Ontario) committed to sending emergency teams and yet more money to Attawapiskat to try to derail the plague of suicides among First Nations youth there and in other indigenous communities.

Did the NDP win the 2015 election? We know Thomas Mulcair didn’t; his leadership received only a 48% endorsement at the NDP’s weekend convention. But what about the party overall? They lost many seats in the last election, but in the big picture, have they lost or won?

​Yes, you read that right. Multiculturalism—a haphazard blend of wishful thinking and wilful naivete—has run its course. It’s been replaced by “multiculturalislamism”—an ideology which brooks no dissent and pardons no departures. In Canada, it’s no longer the schisms between isms that plague us. It’s the ism that tolerates no others—Islamism.

​Today the Liberal Finance Minister unveiled a budget that predictably ratcheted up the red ink on the ledger, revealing a $29.4 billion deficit, while claiming to be fulfilling the expectations of the Canadian people who elected Mr. Trudeau and the Liberal team.

When we think of healthcare and preventive strategies to improve health outcomes, we usually think of habits and substances that directly impact physical health—things like smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, high-sugar diets, fast-foods and junk-foods, lack of exercise, exposure to the elements, poor ventilation, inadequate sleep and poor hygiene.

A state of emergency was recently called in a First Nations community in Northern Manitoba. Rampant suicide has devastated this community, and they are calling out for help to stop this tragic trend.
