How to stop Israel from nuking Iran

Is Iran developing nuclear weapons? In spite of Internet bloggers and conspiracy theorists who suggest otherwise, there’s no question: Tehran’s obdurate evasion of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s inspections leaves no other conclusion. Recently, Yukiya Amano, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), told CNN, “We have the indication or information that Iran has engaged in activities relevant to the development of nuclear explosive devices.”
Since President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said directly that he intends to obliterate Israel, we can—we must—suppose that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, they will use them. Ahmadinejad and Ayatollah Seyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, Iran's spiritual leader and highest authority, are both believed to be Twelvers—Shi’ites who believe it is their duty to hasten the return of the “hidden Imam” (called “the Mahdi”) by creating chaos. And Iran wants to look strong, to snatch away from Turkey the re-creation of the Caliphate.
Unfortunately, America’s new policy of “leading from behind,” coupled with President Obama’s supinely acquiescent posture towards Islam, makes the situation in the Middle East much more dangerous.
Remember, Israel was born out of world Jewry’s resolve that the Holocaust must never happen again. And Ahmadinejad sounds a lot like Adolf Hitler in 1938. So if the world—read “America”—isn’t prepared to stop Iran from developing nuclear arms, Israel surely will.
Israel’s conventional armaments are somewhat better than Iran’s, and Israeli pilots are more skilful. But Iran not only has American F-14s and F-15s, they also have Russian MiG-29s and Russian-made surface-to-air missiles. The USA’s B-2 long-range stealth bombers can carry “bunker-buster” bombs, able to reach the deeply-hidden Iranian nuclear labs, and they can reach Iran without having to refuel over hostile Syrian, Saudi, or Iraqi airspace, which Israeli flyers would have to do. Together, the USA and Israel could crush the Iranian nuclear program with conventional arms.
But acting alone, Israel might need to use tactical nukes to hold their edge.
But Pakistan also has nukes. An Israeli nuclear strike on a Muslim nation could trigger a nuclear exchange that might engulf the whole world. That’s why Canada should be using whatever’s left of our friendship with the USA to plead for Washington to protect Israel—and the world—from this threat. To live in a state of denial, hoping this threat—a nuclear-armed Iran—will go away, is simply naive and recklessly irresponsible.
Christian Heritage Party policy states that, “We stand in opposition to nations and organizations whose avowed purpose is Israel's destruction.” Our policies also state that, “We favour a foreign policy that is independent, but not neutralist. We affirm that freedom-loving people should not have a neutral or positive stance toward communism, fascism, or any other human tyranny.”
As we observe the tyranny in Islamic nations and project its obvious results, we must support western military involvement in ensuring the powder keg that is the Middle East does not explode affecting, not only the Middle East, but all nations.
