“CHP Canada” A Household Name!

I shared with you a few months ago that 2010 will be a breakthrough year for the Christian Heritage Party of Canada! A breakthrough in showing Canadians that our party is the only viable, logical alternative for social and fiscal conservatism in Canada and a breakthrough in Canadians overcoming their reluctance to get involved with the CHP.
In my bid for the leadership of the party in November 2008, I shared that one of my main goals for the CHP would be that of our party image. Members know we have a great party but Canadians have been reluctant to check us out. It's important for the electorate to not only recognize the CHP as a political party with better solutions but that they also feel welcomed by us; realizing that we are the only party that would represent their fiscally and socially conservative values. We are not by any means a private religious group embedded in the political arena, so we must move our readers past that incorrect perception. We must effectively market our party. Our national team has accomplished much. The strengthening of our membership base over the last year is only a foreshadowing of the anticipated growth we expect in the months and years ahead.
In just the short time since we have established CHP Canada as our 'household' name, many positive results have poured in. The biggest by far is that more and more people are checking out our party, looking at our website and reading our 'Better Solutions'. Many times during the Nova Scotia by-election people would call to see what 'CHP Canada' stood for, and this was really good.
The word "Christian" has received a bad rap in the news and entertainment media, in the realm of public education and in the minds of many Canadians. We wanted voters to look at our ideas, our integrity and our values rather than jump to false conclusions based on erroneous word-associations. Surveys have shown that most Canadians love our policies if they will take the time to look at them.
In Nova Scotia, we had the opportunity to tell them who we are and what we stand for and why voting for us would be good for them and for Canada. Christians in many areas helped spread the word to others that a professing Christian candidate was running. They used websites, email, letters and phone calls to network the news, and many heard my interview on Christian radio. It was, and it is, exciting to see all manner of Canadians both Christians and non-Christian, young and old, checking out the benefits of voting for the CHP. A small sampling of this new interest can be seen at Daily News where Brian Lovig has introduced our Communiqué and announced an upcoming interview with me.
Adopting 'CHP Canada' will help us achieve our destination. The aims of the Christian Heritage Party that were established some twenty three years ago are very achievable in today's political atmosphere. It is the integrity certification which each CHP candidate and executive member must complete that will ensure we remain true to those goals. And, it is Canadians from all walks of life, people of all faiths, who will soon recognize the calibre and integrity of our candidates and vote our CHP candidates as their representatives in Parliament.
The New Democratic Party of Canada became a household word (NDP) and so will the Christian Heritage Party of Canada! The utilization of 'CHP Canada' will soon come to be recognized as a milestone in CHP history; it is the long awaited 'welcome sign' demonstrating our willingness to serve all Canadians.
Be part of the team that makes it happen!
CHP Canada!
