The Leader’s New Year’s Message 2010—A Breakthrough Year!

So quickly another year passes. The visions and goals of yesterday, at times found buried beneath the demands of the moment, surface as a reminder that time is of the essence.

The political atmosphere has continued to deteriorate, as expected, throughout 2009 and in so doing has introduced very unique and exciting opportunities for CHP Canada. Exciting because we know our party is the alternative so many Canadians need and want, yet frustrating because we see so many who are tired of the big parties turning instead to the Greens, and even the NDP, and others giving up on voting altogether. This is a constant reminder to me to keep my mandate on track.

In my bid for the leadership just over one year ago, I shared that one of my goals for the CHP would be that of our party image, that it was important for the public to see the CHP as political and determined, a party with better solutions, and a legitimate alternative for Canadians. I said that we must jettison any perception that we may be a religious group using the political arena as a means to get our message out. In the marketing of our party, our national team has accomplished much and the strengthening of our membership base over the last year can be credited to this work, yet more is required to achieve the breakthrough we desire.

I foresee 2010 to be a breakthrough year for the Christian Heritage Party of Canada. A breakthrough in showing Canadians that CHP Canada is the viable, logical alternative for social and fiscal conservatism in Canada and a breakthrough in Canadians overcoming their reluctance to get involved with the CHP.

These are some things we have accomplished in this past year.

We have adopted 'CHP Canada' as our party's new short name and we need everyone to help make it a household name nationwide in 2010.

  • We are continuing to translate more of our policies into 'Better Solutions' for today. Even conservatives outside our party admit that we have by far the best platform in Canada.
  • Our new CHP Canada national web site is close to being launched!
  • Our membership brochure is being overhauled so as to become a more effective recruiting tool, reflecting our political agenda and encouraging people to join.

A continued concentrated effort on how we market our party will translate into the breakthrough CHP Canada needs. Increased membership, greater national recognition and greater vote share will follow. May God guide our decisions and may each of us do our part when and as we are called.
