As the New Year commences, I want to wish every one of you a prosperous, victorious and exciting year of growth, opportunity and fulfillment!

This time of year, we often hear folks saying the Jesus is “the Reason for the Season.” And that’s true.

The “open border” policies of the Trudeau Liberals since 2015—along with their other destructive and foolish policies—are damaging the economy and destroying the moral foundations of Canada’s institutions of justice and democracy.

“All innocent life is equal in worth,” our Prime Minister told the world. He did add: “Israeli and Palestinian.” But he said, “innocent life.” I heard him . . .

As we enter a season of gift-giving and exchanges of cards and greetings, of family visits and sharings of food, fellowship and general celebration, it may be good to think for a minute about gifts, their importance and proper place in our social interactions.

If we needed a wake-up about how news is reported, last Wednesday’s explosion at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing between the US and Canada should be a perfect example.

Why is it that so many of the decisions, being made by the Government (that is the 158 Liberal MPs and their 25 sycophantic supporters in the NDP) are so widely despised by a majority of Canadians today? Why are Canadians not rejoicing over the brutal clampdowns on public discourse or the economy-destroying initiatives of our elected elite?

Once upon a time, Canada looked to its immigrants, as well as to native-born Canadians, to help shape its future. Those immigrants came from many places in the world, but primarily from Europe or from Europe’s world-wide empires.

Canadians were shocked in late September when it was announced that our military funding was being cut by $1,000,000,000. Can you imagine a military that operates on a shoe string budget having their budget cut?

An oft-quoted statement usually attributed to Josef Stalin runs like this: “Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.” Whether Stalin actually spoke those words is questionable; nevertheless, the implications of that thought are deeply disturbing.

“I thought our constitution protected freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion,” a wise person said, when addressing the current situation in Canada. The reality of this statement is further demonstrated by a recent decision of Canada’s military brass.

Our Lord came to give us that eternal life, the abundant life that comes from Jesus, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. But there are people who love death and have given themselves over to it. The Bible talks about a demonic entity—Babylon—“drunken with the blood of the saints.” There are spiritual forces that glory in bloodshed and that celebrate the shedding of innocent blood.
