News or Noise?

Welcome to Canada in 2016. It’s been a tough transition but Canadians can pridefully say that we have finally (almost) conquered the scourge in our heritage…truth.

I know, we’ve heard conservatives whining for years about the restrictions placed on our constitutional freedoms. So, just what is the issue?

In the days since the Orlando, Florida massacre, there has been a lot said about the assault on the gay community by…some nasty person.

The facts of the case are that 50 people were killed and 53 people wounded by a Muslim terrorist. That’s factually correct. It may or may not be a gay nightclub. The victims may or may not have all been gay but…the fact is that they were all human beings. Their “sexual orientation” is of no consequence because I don’t believe the “government, media, or any other group has a place in the bedrooms of our nation.” Neither do I think that anybody should be parading their bedroom issues in front of the rest of us. It’s TMI (Too Much Information).

But with the main-stream media cowering in their corners in order to avoid the words “Muslim terrorist”…as did the President of the United States and the Prime Minister of Canada… the news turned into noise. They complicated something that matters to all people through the media’s need to dodge real issues and speak only of peripheral issues.

As those poor souls heard the gunfire and heard the shooter, shout “Allahu Akbar,” I’m sure the victims didn’t pause to say, “Gee, I wonder if this bar is targeted because of the sexual orientation of the patrons,” rather, they likely grasped the main point of the gunfire: “An Islamic terrorist is shooting the people around me. I’d better get out or hide out!”

This is the same thought that would have run through the minds of victims in an all male club, an all female club, a youth club, a senior club or any other group. Hello!!! We’re all people, we don’t need to have the minor points of the news raised up while relegating the major points to obscurity.

This example of poor reporting turns the news into noise and makes those seeking to hear the news, the true news, seek alternate media sources.

Those with a “drum to beat” should leave the reporting to those with the desire to report the news. For those who want to just beat a drum, I hear there’s always a need for a decent drummer in the music industry.

I lament the loss of Sun News to this day and am grateful for therebel.media. It’s so refreshing to actually hear the news rather than the noise.

It is important that Canada, like all countries, is aware of the truth in the news in order to make policies that best defend its citizens…a primary role of government.

CHP Canada would defend our citizens by protecting them from Islamic terrorists. This is best done when we admit that terrorists exist and that they are killing people.

For the type of government that would protect citizens rather than killers, join CHP Canada and let’s, together, ensure that this doesn’t happen in Canada.
