Will the United Nations Put Their Hands in My Pocket?

Are you feeling over burdened with taxes? Are you wondering how, with such a large portion of your paycheque going to taxes, you’re going to meet all of your obligations? You’d better duck to avoid the next tax missile going overhead!

A United Nations (UN) panel has proposed a Goods and Services Tax (GST) to finance world crises. The UN is funded by independent and voluntary contributions from governments. Naturally, donor countries place conditions on the funds they give. That helps to hold the UN accountable for the money they receive.

With all of the tragic circumstances around the world, — war, famine, refugees — how could anyone object to a few pennies going to an organization that provides aid? There’s a lot to consider when an agency that is NOT elected by Canadians (or any other country) is given license to tax us.

According to the New York Times “The authors of the report also encourage more cash assistance, rather than food, tents and blankets. They cite one 2014 study in which 70 percent of a sample group of Syrian refugees traded “in-kind assistance they received for cash.”

I’m sure cash is preferable; after all you have freedom to purchase whatever you want with cash… Hamas purchases weapons rather than food for Palestinians, when we give them cash. Could the same thing happen if the UN gave false refugee claimants cash? While recognizing that there are legitimate refugee claims, when you need shelter, food and blankets for your family, why would you trade them in for cash? What could be more important than shelter, food and warmth…basic human rights?

But, what else is part of this taxation “can of worms?”

LifeSiteNews reminds us that there is a split between the views of the UN General Assembly and the bureaucracy of the UN.

“The General Assembly, for instance, has defined “gender” twice, in the Beijing Platform for Action and the Rome Statues establishing the International Criminal Court, and both definitions have been acceptable to traditional delegations. However, the bureaucracy continues to define gender as a social construct and has accepted the notion of transgenderism that the General Assembly has consistently rejected.

The General Assembly has consistently and overwhelmingly rejected the inclusion of “sexual orientation and gender identity” in UN documents and therefore a part of new international norms. The bureaucracy, led by the Secretary General, however, is running a global campaign to impose this agenda on the UN and on the world. The last thing we need is for them to have their own money, accountable to no one but themselves, to run such an anti-life and anti-family agenda.”

The UN is not only interested in controlling global population through abortion or enforcing global carbon emission targets based on unproven theories about man-caused climate change. The UN also wants to practice their radical sex education agenda on our children.

Family Watch International issues this warning about UN documents currently being discussed (Agreed Conclusions and a resolution on HIV/AIDS) at the UN Commission on the Status of Women.

“Both documents are filled with proposals calling for controversial sexual rights and for radical sexuality education for even very young children.”

Should this UN imposed GST be implemented, the UN will not be accountable to donor states as they currently are. This frees them of any restraint on their immoral activism.

This proposed tax will be discussed at the World Humanitarian Summit this May. You must take action to stop it before then...unless you are willing to allow the UN to put their hands in your pockets! We must speak up! There is too much at stake for our children, our country and our worldview.

Please sign this petition to stop the global tax.

(If you have an extra moment, you could sign this other petition to send a message to UN Women telling them to stop promoting abortion and to focus on what women really want! )

Our CHP Position on the United Nations is that:

We affirm that Canada should retain its membership in the United Nations. While continuing to support the United Nations as originally constituted, we must not let wishful thinking blind us to the organization’s serious and costly defects.

Signing these petitions tells the UN our position, however, membership in CHP Canada tells our Canadian politicians that we won’t accept their radical agenda for our children, for our families, and against our Christian worldview. Join today!
