Whose children are they?

A bizarre court decision in Quebec-and the cowardly behaviour of BC's provincial government in caving in to homosexual activists' demands to use the schools for indoctrination of captive students-raise an important question: who should have authority over Canada's children?
In Quebec, a father grounded his 13-year-old daughter for defying his ban on inappropriate Internet activity; but a provincial court judge un-grounded her; in BC, the provincial government has given two homosexual men an unprecedented right to review the whole curriculum, from Kindergarten to Grade 12, and to propose changes to make it more "gay-friendly"-but the BC Ministry of Education refuses to even discuss similar privileges for parents.
To Christians, the question "Whose children are they?" seems bizarre, and the answer is obvious: children belong to God, who has mandated that parents should raise and educate them according to biblical principles.
But in Canada's increasingly rootless political/judicial climate, in which so-called "principles" are decided (and changed) according to judicial whim and "political correctness", children become pawns of the State.
This scheme was used in the Soviet Union from 1917 to 1989, and by Nazi Germany during the 1930s: Lenin is reported to have said, "Give me four years to teach the children, and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted." Hitler expressed similar sentiments. Both dictators sought to separate children from the influence of their parents-an anti-family philosophy that traces it roots to Rousseau and Plato.
"Nazi and communist youth movements ingrained the beliefs of their government sponsors in children, and encouraged children to turn in their parents for 'subversive' thoughts," writes Kevin Saunders.
All over the world, those who want to shatter civilization rebuild society according to their untried concepts-"untried" except for the dramatic failures of Naziism and Communism-are attacking the traditional family.
When both the courts and governments refuse to defend the family, it's time to replace those in government with people committed to defending this most elementary building-block of society, and who have a plan to restrain the growing and destructive trend of political activism by judges.
