Liberals Win; Canadians Lose

Ron GraySo Canada has a new/old federal government!

The new Prime Minister, Mark Carney, is the very man who advised PM Justin Trudeau during the last half of the Liberal “lost decade”, and 22 of the members of Trudeau’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) “kiddie kabinet” are now members of Mark Carney’s cabinet.

Plus ça change, plus ça reste la même chose!

The smoothly-oiled, lavishly-funded Liberal election machine, favourably publicized by the legacy media—financed as usual by Trudeau’s slush fund of taxpayer dollars—worked again.

There is a clarion call to the church in the presence of this new/old government: to inform the government and the electorate that God is not likely to favour a nation that has not yet repented of spilling the blood of more than four million innocent children. I recommend using Daniel’s prayer of personal responsibility for a nation’s crimes against God as a model; it’s found in Chapter 9 of the venerable prophet’s book.

I hope the new/old cabinet was paying attention, late in the campaign, when the federal government’s think-tank issued a warning that continuation of the disastrous policies of the Trudeau era could result in Canada slipping into the kind of social and economic disaster that took Venezuela from one of the most prosperous nations in the western hemisphere to an economic and social basket-case. Socialism—and its bastard offspring, utopian globalism—never work.

A campaign to unseat the Conservative leader in his Ottawa area riding resulted in a six-foot-long ballot with 91 names!

That absurdity may drive Canada to electoral reform—perhaps a system similar to that in France, where run-off elections are held until one candidate garners 50-percent-plus-one. That system would have quickly eliminated the 80+ “independent” candidates whose only purpose was to confuse the voters.

Two trends that manifested during the election campaign, however, give grounds for hope:

  1. A large number of young men, many of them followers of Canada’s preeminent public intellectual, Dr. Jordan Peterson, flocked to the rallies of Pierre Poilievre; Peterson has also been teaching the value of biblical policies.
  2. The virtual collapse of the legacy media, plus the rise of a host of citizen-journalists like Ezra Levant, David Menzies and Drea Humphreys of Rebel News; David Simieritsch of Moose on the Loose; Jasmin Laine of Over-Opinionated; Ray and Tanya of Northern Perspectives; Candice Malcolm and Keean Bexte of Juno News; the host of Clyde Do Something; David Krayden; and many others.

The Christian Heritage Party ran only 32 candidates in this election. CHP continues to make the same offer to the electorate: “If you would like to be governed and kept free according to biblical principles, we promise to do our best; but we will not change our principles to conform to prevailing social modes.”

There is more reason than ever for Believers to rally to the CHP cause. This Liberal government cannot last long; they can only muster a majority in the House if they attract the support of the Bloc Quebecois. The only way to prevent an authoritarian Liberal government from running rough-shod over the rights of Canadians in support of the spurious “climate crisis” is for other MPs to coalesce around the goal of defeating the Carney “kiddie kabinet”.

Don’t give up hope!
