Public / Private Partnerships: Today’s Fascism

Tue, March 05, 2024   |   Author: Ron Gray   |   Volume 31    Issue 10 | Share: Gab | Facebook | Twitter

Benito Mussolini, the dictator who ran Italy before WW II, invented fascism; and he gave the world its definition: “Everything within the government, nothing outside the government.” It was a counter to the Marxist vision of “the dictatorship of the proletariat,” in which all the means of production were to be owned by the workers. Under Mussolini’s doctrine, private corporations were free to own the means of production; but their decisions would all be made by the government.

Public/Private Partnerships

Nowhere is this more clearly visible than in the range of western governments—including Canada and the USA—that have recently adopted the slogan of “Public/Private Partnerships” as their vision for the global future . . . in which, as the World Economic Forum’s propaganda films declare, “You will own nothing; and you’ll be happy.”

They’ve forgotten history.

Governments Privatizing Censorship

One of the most massive invasions of private rights today is in the region of free speech: while governments in the West (including Canada and the USA) may theoretically guarantee such rights, governments and their agencies casually sublet their censorship desires to private corporations like the internet’s Tech Giants, which freely control the electronic public square. Citizens’ freedom of speech is quietly obliterated, and is disregarded by the forums—Parliament and Congress—that are constitutionally charged with the responsibility to protect those rights.

Our constitutions purport to constrain governments, and to prevent both censorship and “de-platforming” by the government. But censorship and de-platforming by private corporations is nowhere limited. And we are now discovering that governments and their agencies are quietly “persuading” tech giants and internet platforms to do their censoring for them.

On the QT, all communication, except the ‘approved’ narrative of DIE (Diversity, Inclusion and Equity) and ESG (Economic, Social and Governance) goals—the goals of ‘wokeism’—are excluded from the public forum.

Thus we have fascism privatized, so that it can be exercised by government in secret. And so we lose our right to speak our minds freely, and to hear alternatives to the ‘approved’ narrative. This merging of the state and the private sector becomes monolithic; and when the two gigantic ‘partners’ contrive to pursue a single narrative, and use their combined power to eradicate or obscure all other narratives, the result is naked totalitarianism, worse than either communism or fascism alone.

That’s when we get the worst of both dystopian worlds. And that’s what’s being done to us today.

If there was ever an urgent need for good men and women to do something—to show up, stand up and speak up—now’s the time! The ‘good German citizens’—who failed to confront the fascists and the Nazis in Hitler’s day, who kept quiet and hoped that nightmarish tyranny would just go away—suffered physically and emotionally, under his hideous reign and many died during the Allied bombing raids that finally ended WW II. They missed their opportunity to change the course of history and avert the carnage that followed.

We saw chilling examples of Canada’s Public / Private alliances during the government’s brutal enactment of the Emergencies Act in response to the peaceful protest of the Freedom Convoy in 2022. Banks willingly froze the accounts of citizens the government considered enemies. Big Tech—the social media platforms—parroted the government narrative and excluded alternative views and science from public display. Mainstream Media—bought and paid for with your tax dollars but not your consent—blithely ignored inconvenient truths and consistently carried water for the tone-deaf politicians who sided with Big Pharma and the globalists. All the intricacies of buck-passing and quiet profiteering were hidden from view while the endless repetition of “safe and effective” was treated as scientific proof.

NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and PM Trudeau have just conspired to retain power with an agreement-in-principle to establish a national pharmaceutical program to be operated at taxpayer expense while implementing through Bill C-63 the Online Harms Act and Bill C-373, a Bill designed to remove religious belief as an acceptable justification for acts that may in future be deemed “hateful.” The key to that, of course, is in the ever-widening definition of “hate.” We expect these bills—if passed—will be used to criminalize the expression of certain biblical texts and ultimately to punish those who profess faith in Christ.

The time to speak up is now. Our silence on these matters will one day testify against us. CHP Canada intends to remain vocal. We can do no other.
