Free Speech, the Golden Rule, and Gay Activists in the Public Schools

RonGrayWhy should we care about the rampant censorship and loss of free speech rights being imposed on Canadians by the rising tide of “political correctness” in schools, on university campuses, and in the media?

Well, for one thing, it heralds the widespread destruction of three core principles of Judeo-Christian theology. Those principles are:

• social justice;

• equality; and

• intrinsic human dignity.

Yes, that equality includes sexual orientation. We’ll get to that in a moment.

It is that equality that leads to social justice—real social justice, not the fake sort currently being peddled by radical leftists and sex activists.

But here’s the point for moderns: if, while seeking to live by the “Golden Rule,” we do not do to others what we don't want done to us, we should also not allow to be done to us by others what we know would be wrong if we did it to them.

It works both ways.

I work as a volunteer with a BC organization called “Culture Guard;” we have websites and make videos and draft documents for use by groups of parents who want to defend their rights and those of their children.

Some seek to label us as “bigots” and “homophobes”—two outright lies—and because they have chosen to mis-label us, on the basis of these false labels, our ideas are dismissed from the public policy dialogue.

We’ve never sought to exclude “gay rights” activists from public expression of their ideas—and we object when they try to exclude our expression of our ideas. Which they do.

What we want is an honest dialogue—an exchange of ideas. However, we do object when they scheme to force their propaganda and outright lies on captive children in the schools we taxpayers pay for.

They get a lot of help from the media, and also from misled and misinformed corporations—like Telus, Home Depot, and VanCity Credit Union, but also from banks like CIBC, ScotiaBank and RBC—who have been duped, by the massive spending power of the “gay” lobby, into supporting groups like Out in Schools.

Out in Schools sends utterly unqualified people, speaking for a program that has had no input whatever from qualified professionals in mental and social health, into public school classrooms to propagandize innocent students.

Among the volumes of misinformation, they allege that students who self-identify as “gay” or “bisexual” are at greatest risk for bullying; yet RCMP statistics don’t even list sexual orientation among the top six causes of bullying.

The Out in Schools Teachers’ Guide provided links to raw gay pornography on-line, and the program lured students to the Queer Film Festival, where they were enticed to play games like “Lesbian Debauchery”—the publishers of which define it as “a silly, dirty drinking game.”

Where’s the educational benefit of that? What’s it doing in our tax-supported schools?

Parents who oppose such trash have a perfect right to insist that, as international covenants Canada has signed aver, parents have the prior right to determine their children’s education.

Culture Guard exists to defend that right—and the right of the students to be free from propaganda and coercion. And to oppose the spread of its vile propaganda across the nation.

Decide for yourself. Visit www.cultureguard.com and see what’s being done to your children—and how parents’ groups are being vilified for asking proper questions about who and what gets into the classroom.

The Christian Heritage Party of Canada is the only federal political party that will defend parents’ rights to teach their children their own values. Support CHP Canada today.
