Fourth in Line

On May 2nd, we learned that a new baby princess was born to Prince William and Princess Kate. This baby is fourth in line for the British throne. She is the first female British Royal who cannot be supplanted by a younger brother for her position in line to the throne. This baby has great value!
The Christian Heritage Party congratulates the royal family on the birth of Charlotte Elizabeth Diana. The Bible tells us that children are an inheritance from the Lord. Scripture places great value on children.
As landmarks around the world were lit up with pink on Saturday night to mark this royal birth—fourth in line for the throne—I couldn’t help but think of the excitement worldwide for this very special baby.
From the moment her pending birth was announced seven or so months ago, an excited world has watched her grow in Princess Kate’s belly. Princess Charlotte was never considered a ‘blob of tissue’ worthy of slaughter.
Would the average “pro-choice” person have been comfortable with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announcing that they were having an abortion because they found out they were expecting a little girl? Perhaps you should ask a ‘pro-choice’ acquaintance what they would think about that. Most of the world would have been horrified had this child met the fate of so many pre-born girls — killed because they were girls — gendercide. Perhaps, landmarks would have fallen dark to mark such a horrendous occasion.
Had Princess Charlotte been born with a physical or mental handicap, would the world call for her to be killed? Of course not! Her family is wealthy; we expect that they would provide the care that this baby needs. Different rules for different folks!
The problem is that sometimes we unconsciously, or sometimes consciously, place different values on different people’s lives. In God’s eyes, each person has value; each person is created in His image; each person has potential to serve a greater purpose.
The Christian Heritage Party does not accept that those who are born with physical or mental limitations have less value than those born fully able.
We have the distinction of being Canada’s only 100% pro-life federal political party.
We do not accept that babies should be killed if they’re inconvenient or for any other reason, unless they die as the unintentional result of a procedure performed to save the life of the mother. We place great value on the lives of both mother and child. Children are the future of our nation.
Far too many babies let forth “The Silent Scream” as they are ripped from their mothers’ bodies. According to the University of Ottawa, over 30% of all Canadian pregnancies end up in abortion. There are many countries where the statistics are even higher.
Whether or not we understand the economics, we must realize that, with a diminishing birth rate, Canada will pay a hefty price for aborting the last few generations. Statistics Canada tells us that in 1931 there were 60 working Canadians for every retiree, they also tell us that by 2031, there will be only two working Canadians for every retired Canadian. What kind of future have we offered to future generations where they will have to support ½ of a pensioner… at today’s rates about $750 per month… while still covering their own personal living expenses?
What kind of a country are we leaving to the next generation? One in which euthanasia is a practical necessity! Those, who have “outlived their usefulness” as taxpayers, will have to go as soon as possible.
CHP Canada does not accept that our seniors have ‘outlived their usefulness’, they not only tie the present to the past; they also have earned the wisdom that only years can give.
How many times have we rolled our eyes when great granddad talks about how he had more rights before they were spelled out in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms? Great granddad realizes that before the repatriation of our Constitution, his rights had only the limit of what was spelled out in our laws as unacceptable, murder, theft, etc. After the repatriation of our Constitution, our rights were limited to the rights that were written down for us. Great granddad understands. Too many of us simply accept the words, “we are a free society” but do not notice the tightening noose of tyranny as our rights diminish. We need to listen to great granddad’s wisdom…not assign him a number on the ‘euthanasia hit list’.
A few years ago, I spoke to a gentleman with Euthanasia Prevention Coalition; he spoke of his diminishing value as euthanasia gained acceptance. He recognized that people born with a physical or mental limitation had every reason to be concerned. Society needs to listen to his concerns; he wants his life, even with the challenges he faces.
The Christian Heritage Party policies place high value on every human life. We place great value on the right to the historic freedoms that were recognized under our Christian heritage. Secularism does not recognize this value…that worldview can be summed up as: “we are all valueless ‘blobs of tissue’.”
It’s time to recapture our heritage. Our babies, seniors, depressed, handicapped, and sick have value. Join CHP Canada today and fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
