Canada: A Land of Contradictions
July 14, 2015 | Author: Vicki Gunn | Volume 22 Issue 28
Our Canadian medical system issuing “virginity certificates” for Canadian daughters is almost as bizarre as our Canadian medical system refusing to inform parents of their daughter’s abortion.
In this unbelievable article from the National Post, we find that our tax dollars are burdening our healthcare system with a myriad of “extra services.” But, more importantly, our healthcare system willingly accommodates the cultural requirements of immigrant communities but is not willing to accommodate those who adhere to our Canadian heritage.
Our daughters are protected from having their loving parents help them to cope with the physical and emotional horrors inflicted by abortion because they deserve privacy. But, our daughters may have their private parts examined and certified “unused’ in an appalling infringement on their privacy.
Can you imagine a hospital providing one parent with a “virginity certificate” to keep their daughter marriageable but declining to provide another parent with information regarding a surgical procedure that will impact their daughter for life? Am I the only one who sees an enormous contradiction of rights?
Or perhaps, a male doctor who has trained as long and as hard as anyone else to become a Canadian doctor is sidelined by his hospital because he’s a man. How do they explain it to him? “We want only lady doctors.” Would the result be equal if it was male doctors in demand? Or, in that case would we see human rights cases for discrimination against women?
Again, what about a hospital’s refusal to discuss a child’s condition with the mother, who under Canadian law is equal, because the patriarchal father says the hospital may not.
What has happened to our heritage of equality under the law? In our effort to make everyone else happy, are we willing to make women second class citizens again? We claim to be a secular society but that is only with regards to our Christian heritage…the foundation of our freedom and equality. We will sideline anything that smacks of our heritage to allow the inequalities of other cultures to dominate us.
Where are the women’s rights advocates? Will they only care when our girls are no longer educated? Will they only care when our girls have acid thrown in their faces should they try to get educated, or are shot as they run screaming out of schools? Perhaps the women’s rights advocates will care when women are no longer allowed to drive cars, or go out in public without a chaperone. Perhaps it’s women smothered under burkas that will make women’s rights advocates care? Maybe by then, though, the whole notion of equality will be a thing of Canada’s past…the women’s rights advocates will have no right to protest.
The time to protect our culture is now. We have a wonderful culture of freedom and equality. Our culture is founded on biblical principles that place all ― rulers, judges, women, men ― under the same law. Our culture says that women have the same opportunities as men. This is our heritage! It’s a good heritage! It’s a heritage that I hate the thought of losing. It’s a heritage that the Christian Heritage Party of Canada has been fighting to retain for over 25 years.
We need more people ready to preserve it, though! We need you to get into the battle and tell a healthcare system that has lost its way; that we will not tolerate their trampling the rights of Canadian women. We need a legal system that will protect the rights of all Canadians….even Christian Canadians. We need a Parliament willing to stand up to an out of control Supreme Court of Canada and legislate the SCC back to their Constitutional mandate of judging under the law ― as Parliament writes the law ― not judging the law and overriding our duly elected government.
CHP Canada is the only federal political party that will go to the polls this fall and fight for our heritage. Join your voice with ours in demanding a return to the heritage that has given us all a country that people are lining up to get into… not lining up to get out of.
The by-election in Ottawa West Nepean has the privilege of CHP Canada’s leader, Rod Taylor, working to defend our heritage. How can you help with Rod’s campaign? There is much work and our heritage has lost much ground. We need you!
Join CHP Canada today! If you’re already a member, what will you do to ensure that this battle is not lost.
