A Feminist Who Makes Women Do The Dirty Work

As much as our Prime Minister is adored by many of his followers, even the Liberals must cringe some days. After the House of Commons resumed sitting last week, Tom Mulcair asked the Prime Minister why he does not answer many questions during question period. He also alluded to the fact that the Prime Minister often gives platitudes and non-answers instead of answers. One would think that in the face of such a direct question about his own actions, the Prime Minister would want to answer for himself. So did he? No, Bardish Chagger did. Ms. Chagger talked about bringing the House of Commons into the 21st century, without answering the question at all; like her boss, she just used a lot of words. But, why was she taking the heat at all when it should have been the man sitting right next to her?
The Prime Minister claims to be a feminist, but on more than one occasion he has let—or made—women answer tough questions about the government—especially broken promises! Think back to the breaking of his major campaign promise on electoral reform. A young MP (Maryam Monsef) had been given the file but, when it became clear that she was not going to deliver on the promise, another young female MP (Katrina Gould) was sent in to replace her and also immediately explain to the media why the government was breaking its promise.
The message that critics and feminists alike should take from this is that Trudeau’s brand of feminism sacrifices women to take the heat for his failures … so he can go on his way with no loss of image.
But these examples look insipid beside this: Saudi Arabia was given a seat on the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women—and our Liberal government did not oppose this action! A country where women are not allowed to drive and must obtain permission from a male relative to make decisions on travel and work will contribute to shaping women’s rights! This sounds like the kind of a move that should have feminists of the world uniting and protesting loudly against a major step backwards! Where are the feminists who we expect to seek equality for women word wide?
This appointment was so bad that a lawyer from UN Watch described it as “making an arsonist into the town fire chief.”
One would imagine a self-proclaimed feminist world leader, like Justin Trudeau, to shout in protest or, at least, give an official press conference voicing Canada’s disapproval. But no, he is actually in favour! The government would not denounce the move to relegate the future equality of women to a misogynistic world view, despite calls from the Conservative opposition!
It is actually astonishing that the Mr. Trudeau believes that he is a feminist in the face of his own actions (or inactions). It is even more astonishing that he can keep the star-struck women in his caucus grovelling and saying whatever he needs them to say, despite these ridiculous inconsistencies.
If feminism is a virtue, Mr Trudeau lacks even this one.
CHP believes in the value of all people, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, creed or age. We acknowledge that all people are inherently of infinite worth because we are created by God in His image. We don’t believe in setting the rights of one group against that of another. Women’s rights need to be protected, not just because they are women, but because they are God’s image bearers! They are uniquely gifted to nurture life, which should also be protected.
If you believe in equal rights for men and women, born and unborn, then show your support at a March for Life in your area! If you are not a member of CHP Canada, join and take a stand for life on an ongoing basis; we might not all be able to march, but we can all join and support Canada’s pro-life party!
