Trudeau Dismisses the Old, Discards the Young, Discloses His Cynical Agenda

Justin Trudeau, caught in the cross-winds of his pro-abort comments earlier this year, has decided to trust his own political judgment (surprised?) and to stake his reputation and his party’s future on the gullibility of the public and a few tired cliches.
Last week the 42-year-old Liberal Leader received a letter of concern from seven distinguished former Liberal MPs—Tom Wappel, Garnet Bloomfield, Murray Calder, Rex Crawford, Pat O'Brien, John O'Reilly and Janko Peric—asking him to rethink and rescind his pro-abort stance, in particular, his insistence that he would not allow any Liberal MP the freedom of conscience on the protection of babies in the womb. In response, Mr. Trudeau tweeted: “The days when old men get to decide what a woman does with her body are long gone."
Apparently, we are living in the days when others may decide what to do with the lives and the bodies of the very, very young. For those youngest of women yet unborn, even being female is not considered sufficient reason to protect them from brutal salt-poisoning, dismemberment, beheading and wilful neglect resulting in death. They themselves have no choice…but, of course, they’re not yet old enough to vote. Such is the state of affairs in Canada today, a condition Mr. Trudeau associates somehow with the rights of women.
By his callous and insulting comments, Mr. Trudeau has revealed his arrogant disdain and his disrespect for the thoughtful former MPs of his own party. By dissing “old men” on the issue of the sanctity of life, he has shown that he cares nothing for the wisdom that (sometimes) comes with age. By his refusal to consider the value of pre-born life, he has shown his contempt for the value of all human life. By pretending to care about the choices of pregnant women, he has revealed his cynical ploy for power at all costs. He mistakenly believes that all women are comfortable with abortion-on-demand and a world where politicians abandon conscience to embrace power.
If he truly cared about women and their inherent rights, he would be championing the anti-coercion cause last brought forward by MP Rod Bruinooge (“Roxanne’s Law”). He would be taking a stand against the violence and the threats of angry boyfriends, which have led to the deaths—not only of unborn children—but of young women like Roxanne who chose not to have an abortion. If Mr. Trudeau truly cared about girls, he would be supporting legislation to ban sex-selective abortion, such as was promoted by MP Mark Warawa. Most Canadians think killing a girl child in the womb “just because she’s a girl” is terrible, inhumane, and unjust. Why are Liberal MPs not allowed to express views in line with those of the majority of Canadian women?
If Mr. Trudeau truly cared about the rights and dignity of all Canadians, he would not be expressing such disdain for the opinions of his elders nor their right to hold and express their views.
Finally, ageism (discrimination based on age)—which he seems so cheerfully to support in regard to men older than himself—also extends its deadly reach to the youngest members of our society as well. They are killed by the thousands each year in Canada* for no crime but being conceived and for no justification but being too young to speak for themselves. Their mothers get lip-service from politicians like Mr. Trudeau but 60% of them, who undergo abortions, do so as a result of coercive pressure from boyfriends, parents, teachers, or medical personnel. This is not a choice; it’s a travesty.
Mr. Trudeau would do well to remember two things:
- He also was once a pre-born child, loved and nurtured to birth and beyond. Because of that care by his mother and father, he lives today and has opportunity to think, to speak and to act.
- By the grace of God, he may one day grow old. In his old age, he may reflect often on the events of his life and he may appreciate the opportunity to express himself and to have younger people listen. He should be sure he has something worth saying.
The Christian Heritage Party is Canada’s only federal party united in support of the protection of innocent human life. Our members believe in the dignity and sanctity of all human beings from conception to natural death. Join us today and help us take this cause to the House of Commons. Our Leader actively supports the cause of the pre-born and the rights of all Canadians of all ages, both male and female.
*Over 100,000 babies are killed each year in Canada. That’s 4,000 empty classrooms…every year. Approximately 3.5 million Canadians have disappeared in the past 40 years. Think about it.
