Olympic-Level Bullies

Much has been written and said about the blasphemous opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics. The mockery of the Last Supper by lesbians, homosexuals and an assortment of other confused individuals was an unbelievable display of crudeness, arrogance and in-your-face rebellion against every last vestige of decency and respect for the foundations of human civilization. To have Jesus represented by an obese lesbian in a sacrilegious public display broadcast around the world was another proof of the depravity of mankind and the ongoing enmity between the forces of darkness and the light of the gospel.
This hideous and graphic content was not a random act of protest by some unknown group of misfits, seeking to embarrass world leaders or Olympics officials. Their demonically-inspired antics were commissioned by the Olympics Committee through the engagement of “artistic director,” Thomas Jolly. He claims his parody of the Last Supper was intended to demonstrate love and inclusivity. Serous followers of Jesus did not feel loved or included. We recognized the insult and the blasphemous intent.
Some world leaders—like France’s Macron and First Lady Jill Biden—have even praised the opening ceremonies, defending their “artistic creativity.” Macron said: “The French and the whole world were very proud of this opening ceremony; it made us very proud.” As voices around the world showed outrage and dismay, most of the mainstream media accused Christians of over-reacting and claimed that the act was not meant to disrespect anyone but was merely displaying the willingness of French people to embrace others and also to highlight their love of good food. Hogwash. Once again, the media have shown they cannot be trusted to report truthfully; they must spin the news to fit their hedonistic and anti-Christian world view.
If any doubt remained, the inclusion of Lady Gaga in the opening ceremonies should have dispelled it. But this is the type of “artist” that the world chooses. It is not surprising that the world elevates to the Olympics Committee decision-makers who put sleazy and disrespectful performers on stage for all the world to see—including many children and young people around the world who thought the Olympics was about an ancient tradition of athletic excellence.
The other aspect of the 2024 Summer Olympics that revealed the insidious nature of the backroom political dealings behind the public competitions was the inclusion—in fact, the dominance—of gender-mocking, biological males in women’s sports. Mainstream media cheered the fact that 193 openly gay, lesbian and transgender athletes would be competing in Paris, including some individuals born male but claiming now to be female. This alarming trend has caused a number of talented female athletes to give up their Olympic dreams rather than being badly beaten by larger and stronger male competitors. What this has done to sports around the world is an unfolding tragedy.
We recognize that worldly thinking is shaping—or distorting—many aspects of society: media, politics, journalism, science, entertainment and academia. Athletic competition has not escaped the taint. The reality is that those who have rejected God have rejected His wisdom and are making decisions based on unrealities. Until we restore a consciousness of the Living God who made us and a society-wide consensus on decency and respect for the religious beliefs of others, we will have a hard time reforming any of the institutions that have become a part of our lives.
Many who have commented on the blasphemous content of the Paris opening ceremonies have said it’s time to boycott the games. I can’t disagree. For many, this would be a sacrifice—especially for families where athletic competition has been a huge part of their lives. I judge nobody in this regard. I have watched many Olympics events in the past and have always marvelled at the skill, the strength and the coordination of these athletes, both male and female. But the opening ceremonies and the increasing pressure from the woke, LGBT crowd to make everything about sex and gender has spoiled the Olympics for me. I have chosen—at least for 2024—to ignore the shenanigans in Paris.
Besides, I’m kind of busy . . . trying to promote common-sense in Canadian politics. That includes efforts to restore traditional marriage and to eliminate child abuse in our schools. Bullying has come to the Olympics, but it didn’t start there. Our woke culture has abandoned the principles on which Canada was founded. CHP Canada is working to restore those principles. That’s a team sport. Join the team and help us win!
