The title of this article might sound like the names of three seasick sailors in some children’s storybook. I wish it was that. It’s actually a description of our lost and overwhelmed PM.

It’s one thing to be lost and asking for directions. We’ve all been there. It’s quite another thing to be arrogantly insisting that you know where you are and you know where you’re going when, in fact, you’ve lost all sense of direction, your sails have blown away (to continue the sailing metaphor) and you can’t find your anchor.
There is yet one worse case than that. That is to know you’re going in the wrong direction, to know that the voyage must end in shipwreck, to know that your actions will result in the loss of lives, and to continue as if you had the best interests of your crew at heart.
I choose not to believe the worst. I choose to believe that the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau and his rubber-stamp caucus actually believe their own talking points. They’re confused, yes. Self-deceived, yes. Clinging optimistically to illogical assumptions and drawing conclusions without the evidence to back them, yes. But I hope they’re not deliberately sinking the ship of state. All Canadians—those who entrusted the ship’s rudder to Mr. Trudeau in 2015 and those who knew better—deserve not to have our nation dismantled before our eyes.
Let’s look at some of the damage so far (and this is not meant to be either a complete or detailed list):
- Assisted Suicide and Euthanasia: While the Conservatives lacked the fortitude to use the Notwithstanding Clause when the Supreme Court presumptuously ordered Parliament to enact Physician-Assisted Suicide (yes, just down the hall from where they’re trying to save people from non-assisted suicide…), the Liberals grabbed onto this hideous concept and actually passed legislation, which allowed the killing of more than 2,000 Canadians in its first year. Already the paper-thin protections for vulnerable people have been violated. There is absolutely no doubt that the longer the protocol is in place the wider the gate will open. In the killing centres in Europe, many are being killed without consent. That will come here as well. Mr. Trudeau passed this legislation without guaranteeing conscience rights for doctors and nurses and without first ensuring that all patients have access to adequate palliative care, which would relieve much of the pain and anxiety felt by some in their latter years.
- Abortion: Not content with the status quo (taxpayer-funded abortion in Canada for any or no reason and an annual death toll in excess of 100,000 little Canadians), the Prime Minister has made a rallying-cry for even more abortions, not only in this country but around the world. In a spiteful response to Donald Trump’s cutting of abortion funding, Mr. Trudeau pledged $650 million in new taxpayer funding for abortions around the world. Shameful. What a product to export!
- Gender Confusion: Near the top of Justin’s list of priorities is the advancement of gender confusion. He and his comrades gleefully participate in Gay Pride parades and have passed legislation designed to limit freedom of speech on the topic. The promotion of access for gender-confused biological males to the washrooms, change rooms and shower facilities previously reserved for biological females is a nonsensical imposition of special rights for a tiny minority over traditional rights of privacy for the vast majority. Of course, the self-identification aspect allows for abuse of this special privilege by those who can legitimately claim no psychological reason. Then to cap it off, our PM makes a tearful apology that Canada was not quicker to “normalize” alternative gender expression and predictably, with the apology also throws yet more taxpayer money at those he deems to have been wronged. How about the taxpayers? When are they going to get an apology?
- Debt and Deficit: Conservatives failed to achieve their lofty goals for balanced budgets. They said they would balance the budget but they did not. The Liberals—on the other hand—promised to run a deficit of around $10 billion and have exceeded expectations. Their annual deficits are running around $30 billion. The net effect of the Conservatives’ deficits (they added more than $150 billion to the debt during their 9 ½ years in office) and Justin’s easy-spend philosophy is a national debt of $646 billion as we speak and an interest payment of about $71 million every single day! No end in sight. No understanding of the importance of paying down the debt.
- Terrorism and Radical Islam: Mr. “Sunny Ways” is hoping for the best. Open the borders. Don’t ask questions. Allow illegal immigration. Reward Omar Khadr with $10.5 million for his acts of treason. Pass M-103 and move to make it illegal to examine or criticize one religion—Islam. Appoint people to high office who actually want to bring Shariah law to Canada. When failed jihadists come drifting back to Canada, our PM opens the door and wants to welcome them instead of prosecuting them for acts of terror. A political rule of thumb is that you get more of what you subsidize and less of what you tax or punish. That’s a good thing to remember.
- Marijuana: C-45 is rolling ahead as if it were going to improve things in our country. No recognition of the fact that traffic accidents and traffic fatalities increased dramatically in both Colorado and Washington when weed was made legal there. Law enforcement nightmares, mental illness, loss of productivity, and more disastrous consequences will follow the implementation of C-45. But our PM plunges ahead, assuring Canadians that he knows what’s best for Canada.
We don’t really know whether the man ostensibly at the helm of the Liberal Party as well as the country is “the brains behind the outfit” or if he is being told what to do and say by those who helped put him in office. In one sense, it doesn’t really matter whether he is the inventor or only the “pretty face” of the wicked policies advanced by his government. He still has the responsibility and could—by a mighty moral effort—reverse the course he is on.
The man who has become, under Canadian law, the central figure of our elected government has a tremendous responsibility to serve the people of Canada. He may be confused. The Bible says that those who reject God’s wisdom will be given over to delusions (Romans 1) and will begin doing things that are “not convenient.” How true that is. At the same time, those who turn to God and His Word and seek wisdom will find it. Let’s pray that the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada, begins to recognize the privilege and responsibility that God has allowed him to bear and begins to look to the ancient wells of wisdom. We’d love to help him make better choices, for the good of our children and the good of our country.
With that goal in mind, help us to moor Canada to a strong foundation by joining CHP Canada today. If you are already a member, success demands a strong, committed effort and financial backing. Canada needs you!
