Serving as a Candidate for CHP

“As a candidate for the Christian Heritage Party in the current federal by-election, I’m grateful for the privilege of being able to support and give voice to policies that I can believe in.
I’ve long appreciated the CHP policy of protecting innocent human life from conception to natural death; I’ve also come to value many other family-friendly policies which are unique to the Christian Heritage Party. CHP Canada knows when life begins, what marriage should mean, and how vital strong families are to the future of this country.
Families and the unique relationships they represent are at the heart of our lives. The wellbeing of our children must trump the intentional dismantling of the family, which has been the motive of too many special interest groups and the consequence of too much judicial activism. CHP will continue to stand up to these strident cultural forces and will insist that Ottawa turn parenting back to parents.
Among political parties, only CHP Canada has the courage, the integrity and the principles to stop the bullying of Canadian women, children and families.
The greatest bullying of Canadian children has been done by governments that fund the destruction of unborn children in their mother’s wombs. Women are being coerced (bullied) into destroying their own unborn children based on the lie that those children are not really persons, deserving of protection, not yet human beings worthy of respect and dignity. But the bullying doesn’t end there. Canadian parents of already-born children are often pressured by the state (bullied) into abandoning their responsibilities as the primary caregivers, teachers and role models for their children. Parents are bullied into allowing the state to “overflow its banks” and to assume ultimate authority in the lives of their children—shaping their opinions, moulding their characters and values.
CHP is the only truly pro-life federal party in Canada. CHP will protect the God-given entitlement of respect for life for every innocent human being from conception to natural death. CHP policies are directed to maintaining healthy families for a healthy society and will work to restore parental responsibility.
That’s why I chose to run for the CHP in Trinity-Spadina. The pro-life cause is what I stand for and what has motivated me. I’ve spent over ten years behind bars—drawing attention to the plight of the unborn—that “I might, by all means, save some”. I recognize the link between my personal acts of conscience and the need to elect men and women to represent the unborn in Ottawa. May all Canadians of conscience step forward and join themselves to the cause of the unborn. May they come to recognize the unique role of the CHP in bringing this cause forward in the political sphere.
Join Canadians across Canada in defending our Christian heritage. Our common humanity demands it.
Long live the CHP and the moral values it represents.”
A note from the CHP’s Election Readiness Team: As we approach election 2015, the CHP is calling on our members to follow in the footsteps of Linda (Gibbons) Groce and make a stand for righteousness in Canada. We need candidates who will articulate our biblically-based moral policies. Voters in your electoral district deserve a candidate who will speak up for the unborn, for traditional marriage, for personal freedom and fiscal responsibility. We are asking our members to consider whether they would be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to bring this message to Canadian voters.
Don’t leave politics to the professionals. God does not require wealthy lawyers to represent His principles. He requires faithful obedience, humility and a servant’s heart. We are asking that our electoral district associations (EDAs), and members in areas without EDAs, seek among their membership for those who would be willing to serve their fellow citizens as candidates for Election 2015. If you are willing, God can make you able. Linda Gibbons has spent more than ten years in prison for the unborn and she continues to serve them today. Could you spend five weeks on the campaign trail as a candidate, campaign manager or campaign volunteer?
We ask you to begin considering whether you could serve your fellow citizens in this way. Pray about it.
We are grateful to David Reimer and Linda (Gibbons) Groce for serving in the by-elections in Macleod, AB, and Trinity Spadina, ON.
Linda has graciously provided us with her thoughts four days before the vote. Next week, CHP Interim Leader, David Reimer, will share his thoughts on this by-election and what it means for Canada.
We live in a challenging time; God has given us the opportunity to demonstrate our faith in the midst of increasing hostility to all things Christian. It is our time to shine. The world is running out of answers and running out of time. We have answers and God will equip us to bring those answers to a nation in turmoil. Thank you for your support and for the sacrifices you have already made.
