RU486 - Coming to a Pharmacy Near You?

Health Canada is facing pressure to approve the abortion drug RU486. This drug, the darling of the World Health Organization, has been hailed by some as “essential medicine.” Really? “Medicine” that kills?

The curious thing about RU486 is that three pro-abortion women have stood with pro-lifers in opposition to this drug. In 1992, feminists Renate Klein, Janice Raymond, and Lynette Dumble wrote a book entitled, RU486 – Misconceptions, Myths and Morals.

What could be so horrible about this drug, other than its infant mortality rate, that pro-abortionists would oppose it? I haven’t read their book but according to LifeSiteNews.com the women have said, “[RU-486] constitutes a new form of medical violence that endangers women’s lives and violates their right to be free from bodily harm.”

Their information appears to be correct, if we look at the American Federal Drug Administration adverse reactions up to 2011.

Out of an estimated 1.52 million women who have had a chemical abortion 2207 have had serious problems. Of course, if you consider the percentage… that’s just collateral damage… an acceptable risk. Or is it? This also means that the RU486 has killed 1.52 million babies.

According to Abortion Breast Cancer “RU 486’s sponsor and patent holder, the Population Council, reported that 1 out of every 50 women will hemorrhage and require surgical intervention to stop the bleeding. One out of every 100 women will require hospitalization.” That’s a pretty significant percentage. If we use the figures of US Federal Drug Administration, over 20,000 women hemorrhaged after RU486.

What of the 1.52 million babies that died? According to LifeSiteNews.com “RU-486 will take us down one more level – a drug which has been specifically designed to starve a child, followed by the administration of another drug, Cytotec, to induce labour and expel the dead or dying child.”

It’s not enough to recognize that our government is entertaining a great evil. It’s time take action. We have included an action box. Today is the day to ensure that we draw a line in the sand and give no more ground. If not you, then who?
