Judges and Terrorists
September 22, 2015 | Author: Vicki Gunn | Volume 22 Issue 38
In terrifying news for all Canadians, we recently learned that an Edmonton judge has ordered a tried and convicted terrorist to be free to move about Canada. The object of her compassion is a man who is unrepentant for his terrorist activities and from a family that has publicly professed their support for Al-Qaeda. Justice June Ross, ordered Omar Khadr, convicted murderer and terrorist, to be released from his ankle bracelets because they “hindered his ability to play soccer” and to have police tracking programs removed from his computer. She has happily allowed him to fly to Toronto to visit his terrorist family.
Who, on the plane to Toronto, wants to sit beside this convicted murderer and terrorist? Never mind beside him, who wants to be on the same plane that he’s in? Who in Toronto, really wants to see Omar Khadr walking up to them holding his cell phone in his hand?
Although Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms begins with a preamble that recognizes the “supremacy of God,” many of our judges, from the Supreme Court on down, seem to feel justified in placing their wisdom above that of God. Canada’s self-proclaimed gods have granted themselves the prerogative of making new laws as they see fit and enforcing or rejecting whatever laws they wish. They read into Canada’s written laws their own biases and they strike down our laws with which they disagree. They don’t answer to the electorate and, having once attained power, use that power to control public thought and discourse. As a group they are autonomous and as individuals they pose a danger to our way of life.
From the time we saw Khadr schmoozing for the cameras outside of his home in Edmonton, with the mainstream media drooling all over him as if he was a demigod sent down to visit us, we’ve seen no sign of repentance for his past.
Now, less than a year after the terrorist killing of Nathan Cirillo in Ottawa, and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, this judge sides with a terrorist and against law abiding Canadian citizens.
Our government is made up of three branches, each with separate powers and responsibilities: the legislature, the executive and the judiciary. Somewhere along the way, our judiciary has taken over the roles of the legislature creating a judicial oligarchy.
The Christian Heritage Party of Canada calls on our government to appeal this ruling that allows Omar Khadr, a confessed terrorist, the same freedom as you or me to move about Canada. We also call on the government—when necessary— to use the Notwithstanding Clause, contained in our Charter, to counteract the increasing number of arbitrary and disrespectful decisions by the judiciary against Canadians.
You can voice your disapproval of this release of Omar Khadr by signing the petition requesting the government appeal this judge’s ruling.
You can also voice your support for returning Canada’s justices to their proper role, as it is spelled out in our Charter, by voting for the Christian Heritage Party. It’s time to restore justice and to take Canada back for all Canadians.
