Je suis PHC et je suis PRO-LIFE!

While the world and many news anchors are still reel-to-reeling the reality of radical Islamist jihad and the wanton destruction of innocent human life vis-a-vis the Charlie Hebdo and related massacres, (with occasional references to the slaughter of perhaps 2,000 Nigerians by Boko Haram), I have been meeting with Canadians in Quebec who want to do something to stop the slaughter of Canadian babies currently tipping the scales at over 100,000 innocent human lives each year in Canada.
The mass killing of the pre-born is every bit as horrific on a case-by-case basis as the brutal slaying of the Charlie Hebdo journalist team or the ambush of police officers or the cruel murder of grocery-store hostages; it’s just not being covered by the media nor mentioned by the world leaders who linked arms to show their unity on the democratic right to free speech. Here’s the scoop: babies are ambushed in the womb. No advance warning. No chance to run away. If numbers matter, abortion outranks all other causes of deaths. I guess that’s why BC and Ontario have stopped collecting and reporting abortion statistics. Those numbers are just so inconvenient.
Aside from the killing of the innocent, there’s also a free speech issue. Not only is each individual baby deprived of the opportunity to ever say anything to anyone, those who seek to come to their defence are having their right to be heard taken away as well. Our friend, Mary Wagner, is behind bars today for having the audacity to hand out roses to women who are about to have their babies ripped from their life support systems in the womb. Apparently, Mary’s offer to pray for these women is seen as going a bit too far. It tends to interfere with the orderly processing of death-clinic clients in an efficient and profitable manner.
That’s why I was so encouraged to meet with men and women in La Belle Province who want to do something about the slaughter of the innocents - men and women who are not afraid to speak about the value of human life and our role in defending it. Today I was encouraged by several who are considering representing the CHP (PHC in Quebec) in the federal election scheduled for October 19 of this year.
The words and actions of other party leaders and MPs have made the decision of party support very straightforward. Mr. Trudeau, whose father first made abortion legal in Canada, has now declared that no Liberal MP under his leadership will be allowed to vote for the protection of the pre-born. Mr. Mulcair, not to be outdone, has emphasized the NDP’s stance on ensuring universal access to abortion-on-demand. The leaders of the Bloc and the Green Party still seem to think that the “choice” to abort somehow empowers women. And of course, Mr. Harper has stated repeatedly that he will not allow any legislation restricting abortion to be passed while he is PM. He’s backed those words with action, too. By speaking against and voting against Rod Bruinooge’s Anti-Coercion Bill (Roxanne’s Law) and Stephen Woodworth’s Personhood Motion, and by making sure that Mark Warawa’s motion against gender-selective abortion never made it to the floor for a full debate, he has clearly shown that getting re-elected is more important to him than defending the pre-born.
That’s a tragic choice but one our PM has made as an adult. 100,000 babies every year will never get to make a choice. Even their mothers are being used as puppets of the abortionist mind-set; statistics indicate over 60% of post-abortive women made their fatal decision under pressure from a boyfriend or others. For them, the “choice” argument wears a little thin. Canadian voters still have a choice when they go to the polls. Canadians still have a choice about what political party they join and support with their finances and energy. Working together before an election, those who wish to show solidarity with the pre-born can link arms and work together for the protection of innocent life.
Canadians can choose to mark their ballots in defence of innocent human life or in support of the status quo. The Christian Heritage Party will do its best to provide pro-life candidates where the other parties fail. I thank those men and women in Montreal and Quebec City who are stepping forward to protect the innocent. I hope many more across this country will join with them and in solidarity say, “Je suis PHC (CHP); je suis PRO-LIFE.”
