Giving to the Future

Vicki GunnWell, it’s been almost a month since Canadians went to the polls. It looks like we are in pretty much the same spot we were in prior to our early election. But are we?

We have a Prime Minister who has never sat as a Member of Parliament setting up his cabinet, which he’s never done before; never been in charge of the defence of a nation, or foreign relations or anything political. He is declining to release a budget this year. We’ll just fly by the seat of our pants! I guess it’s a form of “on the job training.”

He’s a financial guru, there’s no doubt about that. He’s made his living that way, however, as a political leader, he’s happy to throw financial caution to the wind and project a $62.3 billion dollar deficit. (Don’t worry! If you say it fast, it doesn’t seem like much.) I guess buying votes with the tax dollars of unborn future generations is similar to “The budget will balance itself.”

“Don’t worry! Somebody will pay for it . . . someday. Ours is just to spend—enjoy the fruits of our grandchildren’s, great grandchildren’s, great, great grandchildren’s . . . great, great, great, great, great grandchildren’s, labour.”

But again, don’t worry! We’re getting tax cuts so that our lavish spending doesn’t blight our today. We’ll have the benefit of spending more of our descendants’ future.

Like every election since 1988, some Canadians had the opportunity to vote for our Christian heritage. The principles set forth by CHP Canada don’t change. This is because we follow the governing mandate set out by our Creator. He’s the one with the operating manual for how we live . . . what works and what doesn’t.

Compare PM Carney’s position with that of our Creator on whether we steal our children’s future or give them a future. “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children,” Proverbs 13:22. Wow! It seems the expectation inherent in our Christian heritage is that we provide for our children, not pauper our progeny by expecting them to provide lavishly for us.

This is the problem that we have encountered for a lot of years. We have heaped deficit upon deficit and debt upon debt without considering who was paying for the many perks that we want. The truth is that someone must pay. It can’t be previous generations, as they aren’t here to add to or take away from what they did. If it isn’t going to be us, the current generation of Canadians, then it will have to be those who follow us.

So, we take our children’s future and leave them in soul-stealing poverty.

Or, we do have opportunity to reconsider. We could look at our avaricious ways and put the effort in to provide an inheritance for our children.

  • An inheritance of life. We have watched generations be decimated by the abortionist’s curette. Four million Canadians, killed before they were born, silently screamed for the opportunity to feel love and be nurtured. Four million Canadians who could have helped fund an aging population into retirement.
  • An inheritance of freedom. As we watch Canadians increasingly muzzled on what they can say, let’s stand up and say, “NO!” Our children WILL be blessed with freedom of speech. It only requires that we stand up like men and women of integrity and require it.
  • A financial inheritance. We could say “No” to our generation’s lavish demands upon our government. We could say “No”—that they cannot buy our votes by stealing future generation’s financial security. We could stand up like independent men and women and say that we will cover our own expenses; our children don’t have to pay for us to live in gilded luxury.

Mark Carney has followed his predecessor in throwing money into Canadian laps while requiring only an “X” on the ballot to pay for it.

Take time between now and when this current government falls to assess your priorities. Are you stealing from your children? Are you putting luxury ahead of your children’s future? Are you approving the slaughter of future generations? Are you selling your birthright for a muzzle and chains?

Don’t make your children settle for the leftovers of an over-consuming generation. Let’s work together to build an inheritance for them that will last. Let’s focus on debt reduction, eliminate deficits, protect our children from the pro-aborts, and give to them an inheritance worth having.

It’s time to refuse the blue and red waves that have infested our country and look to what is truly good for Canadians. Armed with that, you can choose to protect the heritage that gave us freedom and equality, that gave us true blessings from heaven.

Make your political voice matter. Join CHP Canada and truly leave a future for Canada.
