8 Reasons Christians Should Vote CHP

For many years the CHP has been seeking the support of Canada’s Christians. It sounds like an easy task—occasionally it is—but for the most part it’s incredibly difficult.

How do we win our fellow Christians? There’s no easy answer, but broadly speaking, it’s going to take a blend of truth and love.

Regarding the truth component, the apostle Paul says we’re transformed by the renewal of our minds (Romans 12:2), so in the points that follow, you’ll find food for the minds of our friends.

As for the love component, we’re told in 1 Corinthians 13 that truth without love is useless and annoying. So with this in mind, as we engage with our brothers and sisters in Christ, perhaps over a cup of coffee, or in a chat after church, it’s essential that we always treat them with respect, patience and kindness (never scolding them for their lack of support) as we gently challenge their thinking.

Here are 8 points we can use to show Christians why it makes sense to support the CHP:

  1. Christless conservatism is headed to the same abyss as Christless liberalism: Look at the trajectory of the Conservative Party’s policies and platform in this country over the last 70 years. The Liberals of 70 years ago were far more conservative than the Conservative party today. When conservatism isn’t subject to the God of the Bible, anti-Christian man is supreme and this always ends badly. By voting for the “lesser of evils” (Christless conservatism), things might improve a bit in the short term, but the trajectory (and the Scriptures) tells us that in the long run things will continue to get worse. The bottom line is—Jesus Christ is the only source of freedom and prosperity. So…we can be selfish and opt for short term relief and leave the long term negative consequences for our children and grandchildren to deal with, or, we can step up and stand for what’s right in God’s eyes. This could mean short term pain, but we’ll get to the desired end of having a nation that’s obedient to Jesus sooner. The CHP is the only federal party whose conservatism unabashedly honours Jesus Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords.
  2. The CHP is the only federal party aligned with the Great Commission: Jesus said, “Make disciples of the nations, teaching them to obey everything I commanded you.” This is a political statement if there ever was one! If Jesus meant what He said (and He did), He wants Christians to take Canada for Him through calling everyone to repent and believe. It’s clear in His statement that Jesus wants Canada’s laws to be based on biblical precepts. In a similar vein, in the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus teaches us to pray, “…Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” For God’s will to be done on earth, our behaviour and laws need to be aligned with the principles revealed in scripture. Secular politicians won’t get this job done; they throw out God-honouring laws and introduce evil laws. The CHP is the only federal party that advocates having laws based on biblical precepts.
  3. Pierre Poilievre supports the killing of babies in the womb at all stages of pregnancy (Christless conservatism) and Maxime Bernier is only willing to oppose the killing of babies in the womb during the last trimester. (Over 99% of the 100,000 abortions performed in Canada each year happen in the first two trimesters). Will God bless a nation that affirms the slaughter of our most innocent Image bearers? The CHP opposes abortion at every stage of pregnancy. True Christian cultural engagement exposes evil, it doesn’t cooperate with it. Electing even one CHP MP will provide an unmuzzled voice for the voiceless in our House of Parliament.
  4. Pierre Poilievre supported Bill C-4: This is Trudeau’s so-called “Conversion Therapy ban”, which aims to put parents in jail for up to 5 years for the “crime” of refusing to affirm their sexually-confused child as being the opposite sex. (The bill also refers to Christian sexual values as “myth”.) In fact, NOT ONE Conservative MP spoke out in Parliament against the passing of Bill C-4. What good are supposedly pro-life MPs if they won’t stand up and be counted when it matters most? Will God bless a nation that affirms sexual confusion, and the surgical and chemical mutilation of His image bearers? A CHP Member of Parliament would shine light on this insane and tragic reality.
  5. Pierre Poilievre supports non-traditional sexuality. An article on the Campaign Life Coalition website states: “…Pierre Poilievre, is strongly supportive of homosexual marriage.” In fact, Poilievre spoke out against pro-traditional family CPC Leadership candidate Richard Decarie in the 2020 Leadership race over the latter’s belief in traditional sexuality. Maxime Bernier voted in favour of homosexual “marriage” in the past and still appears to be supportive of it. The CHP is unique in upholding God’s definitions of family and human sexuality.
  6. Poilievre condemned Christine Anderson of the EU Parliament as vile, racist and hateful when it came to light that she had lunch with three CPC MPs. Anderson is the bold and courageous parliamentarian who chastised our PM to his face in front of the European Parliament for his tyrannical treatment of Canadians during Covid. What vile things is she known for? She’s known for opposing open borders – something any reasonable person would oppose. The CHP honours freedom fighters like Christine and would advocate on behalf of Canadians for the proper vetting of immigrants.
  7. Regarding Immigration, Foreign Policy and Trade, Poilievre doesn’t differ much from the Liberals including his support for pouring resources into Ukraine. The CHP is opposed to sending Canadians’ money to Ukraine.
  8. Regarding the Paris Climate Accord, Poilievre has indicated the Conservatives aren’t planning on withdrawing, which means the punishing and harmful obligations of this accord will continue to sabotage the economy of Canada. The CHP calls for an immediate withdrawal from this Accord.

Please let us know if these points are helpful. Together, let’s return our great nation to a firm foundation. Join CHP today.
