Townhall Meetings

November 2011

In November, Jim Hnatiuk (National Leader), Vicki Gunn (Executive Director) and Rod Taylor (Deputy Leader) embarked on a brief cross-country tour, conducting Townhall Meetings in various locations in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. A presentation was given of the current vision and activities of the national board, touching on our communications strategies, departmental development, training initiatives for local EDAs, messaging and policy development, and the development of provincial CHP wings, among other things. Following the presentations, feedback and suggestions were solicited and those in attendance participated in very helpful ways with much good advice and wisdom. The valuable insights which we received will be shared with the national board and will help us charting our course in the days ahead. We thank those members who came out and gave us such an enthusiastic welcome and such positive feedback.

As a party seriously preparing for the next election, we realize that we have a lot of work to do and are focused on growing the membership base and expanding our influence into more electoral districts across the country. The national board recognizes the value of the wisdom of our members and with your help, we intend to implement as many as possible of the suggestions received.

As we begin to put these ideas to work, we will continue to share our plans and we look forward to hearing from you, our members, at every step of the way.

The next big opportunity to hear from our members in a group setting is the CHP 25th Anniversary Convention in Abbotsford, BC  (March 14-17, 2012). We hope to see many of you there!

We pray the Lord will bless your efforts in each province and electoral district as you seek—together with us—to honour Him in the political life of this country.
