Summary of the night:
Talk about an excellent time! On June 18, we all gathered together at the Ramada Inn in London for the Annual Leader’s Banquet. It was lots of excitement and fun to organize this great and successful event. Some people had travelled hundreds of kilometres to attend. We were treated to a political event, which no other federal party would dare match.
During the opening devotions London’s Prayer Director Rev. W. Van Hal made reference to our dependence on God and that we must trust in Him for success. Unless the Lord builds the house, those who built it labour in vain. Ps.127:1. We hold these values high because we believe in the Lord Jesus and want to live in obedience to Him.
We then enjoyed a delicious hot beef dinner, included in our ticket.
Our next item on the agenda was to listen to 5 leaders of like minded organizations who made statements like “Society does not want to see what an unborn baby looks like and how it develops”; “How did we ever get to a society, where a judge rules that it is a ‘human’ right to commit infanticide”; “We need to fight for the sacred marriage between one man and one woman”; “It is only by God’s grace that we achieve success” and “Come join us in protesting against pornography and the gay pride parade.” These leaders were later challenged with the comment “At what other political party would you not be stopped at the door, instead of being welcomed to speak.”
Christian Heritage Party leader, Mr. Jim Hnatiuk, spoke to us about his vision for the CHP’s future. He challenged us to unite for the goal of bringing righteousness back to politics. Mr. Hnatiuk also explained the “Elucidation” a document that clarifies to all that the CHP is a political party created to unite believers of both Roman Catholic and Protestant denominations to serve God in politics. Various members made comments on this speech such as: “I could have listened a lot longer.”
Later a request was made for funds for London Fanshawe to help them be prepared to stand for righteousness. Cheques can be made to London Fanshawe EDA and mailed to “London Fanshawe EDA, c/o C. Hoff, 742 Millbank Drive, London, ON, N6E 1W2.
It was an evening to be joyfully remembered for a long time.
