Greetings to CHP members across the country. We have returned from our scouting expedition. The land we saw is a good land, flowing with milk and honey. Oh yes, we did notice some tall fellows over there who told us to go home. We decided that—with a little education—they could be turned into decent neighbours so we didn’t disturb them too much.

The expedition was the first foray of the Christian Heritage Party into provincial politics. Donald A. Roberts and I had the privilege of representing CHP-BC in the 2013 election and—although neither of us was given a mandate (this time) to represent our ridings in Victoria—we were pleased to be able to present a platform based on moral, common-sense principles free of the controlling influences of big government, big unions, big business, and big media.

For those who may not know, CHP-BC held its first AGM on April 6, just prior to the “dropping of the writ” in BC’s long-awaited election. (BC elections are held every four years in May). As the province went into full election mode, Don Roberts and I began getting signatures and filling out forms to become registered CHP-BC candidates.

While Premier Christy Clark’s BC Liberals have not been very popular and were expected to lose to a resurging NDP, in the end, BC voters pulled back from the prospect of an even-more-socialist government and gave the BC Liberals another four years. This is seen as a shout-out to big business. It certainly was not a principled return to public morality and family values as the Liberals have not shown any inclination to reverse the troublesome trends of recent years: their 2005 Corren Agreement, the refusal to divulge abortion statistics, the descent into habitual deficit spending, etc.

But we, the first provincial CHP candidates, have come back from our journey with a good report and we’d like to share that with you:

Based on election night returns, we achieved—respectively—6.01% in Stikine (a part of the Skeena-Bulkley Valley federal district) and 1.57% in Prince George-Valemount, (where CHP has been virtually unknown). CHP-BC now has a better idea of the “lay of the land” and can begin preparing for the next election.

CHP-BC, in the ridings where we ran, achieved a higher average % than 14 other small parties, placing us in fifth place, although some independents achieved higher numbers than we did. (Thanks to Geoffey Capp for the post-election analysis). In spite of greater media coverage and a high-profile leader, the BC Conservatives also failed to gain a seat, so we were in good company. In my riding I trailed the third-place BC Con candidate by only 14 votes. This is subject to change at the Final Count on May 27 when absentee ballots, etc. will be tallied and added.

We were blessed to have received campaign contributions from members in other BC ridings where CHP-BC did not have candidates and even some help from outside BC (which is currently permitted by BC election law). Thank you to everyone who assisted in this way as well as those who prayed and contacted us to offer encouragement! We really appreciate your sharing this experience with us and making it possible to run a credible campaign.

This allowed me—in Stikine—to run very affordable TV and radio ads as well as newspaper ads and to mail out 6,000 brochures to households in the district. Name brand recognition was high in Stikine both for me and the CHP and that helped get our message out to more people.

Both Donald Roberts and I were well treated by the northern media. Newspapers, radio, local television, and online magazines contacted both of us for interviews and we were able to respond to a number of questionnaires from issue-advocacy groups. We each had opportunities in all-candidate debates and received favourable comments.

I had the additional benefit of having Stephen Plamondon modifying and updating my campaign site with audio/video, etc. Although the campaign is over, I invite you to visit the site and review the ads and speech highlights. Stephen has done an excellent job.

What about the giants?

Of course, we did face some challenges and setbacks. We want to learn from these and prepare to overcome them in the future. Some of these:

While local media coverage was very good, we still faced the biases of the national media. CBC online did not even show me as a candidate on their website, a full week after I was registered. Their list of the 25 provincial parties did not include a live link to CHP-BC’s website, although they provided that for most of the parties. They even referred to the televised debate between the four most prominent party leaders as an “all-party leaders debate” (clearly untrue). Their “Vote Compass” Voters’ Guide included leading questions and a host of unsupported assumptions. Online readers participating in their survey were directed to one of the four biggest parties instead of becoming well-informed about all the options. This is a disgusting use of taxpayers’ money which effectively undermines the democratic process.

Our focus on written, online, and audio-visual communications and our time spent preparing ads, brochures, and signs left us little time for door-knocking. We know the importance of one-on-one communications but due to the late campaign start, had to set priorities to reach the most people in the time available.

I personally drove over 4,500 km, placing signs and retrieving them. Of course, in future campaigns we would hope to have more of this done by campaign volunteers but as this was our first provincial campaign it seemed only right that I would explore the territory. Even at that, I did not get to Atlin, the most distant community near the Yukon border.

The biggest challenge—as always—was the apathy of many potential voters and their tendency to vote for the big-name parties as they do not believe we have a chance to win. Many people would have supported us if they had thought we could take the seat. This self-fulfilling prophecy must be challenged until the first CHP MLA or MP is elected. The Green Party, encouraged by the eventual election of Elizabeth May to Ottawa, has now sent Andrew Weaver to Victoria as the first-ever elected Green Party MLA. We celebrate this win for the Greens because it shows that persistence and commitment can overcome apathy and compromise.

We were very pleased with our website but wished more of our voters would have visited it prior to voting. We tried many ways to encourage site visits, sending out links and advertising it both on our brochures and our ads. However, traffic to the site never reached the levels we had hoped for. We need to find better ways of getting people to read and listen to our platforms and principles.

The land we saw is a good land. We invite all CHP members to look at ways to engage in provincial elections and help us overcome the giants. If you’re not yet a member of CHP Canada, we invite you to join. We’re pressing on and going in.

The Conservative Party of Canada in a recent online survey revealed their proposed Economic Action Plan 2013.

The Conservative Party of Canada in a recent online survey revealed their proposed Economic Action Plan 2013.

Their plan involves establishing three funds; the Community Improvement Fund to support the local community projects in cities and communities; the Building Canada Fund to support major economic projects that have a national, regional, and local significance; and, finally, the P3 Canada Fund to support innovative ways to build infrastructure projects faster and provide better value for taxpayers through public-private partnerships.

On the surface this plan is very, very similar to the Christian Heritage Party’s economic stimulus plan, which we’ve promoted for over a decade. However, there is one major difference. The Conservative Party doesn’t reveal who will pay for this plan. At CHP Canada, we make this perfectly clear.

On the CHP Canada website it reads:

The CHP would put Canada back to work with a nationwide infrastructure stimulus package that would fix our cities, our highways, and our bridges.

Jobs stimulate the economy. The CHP would revive the plan that was successfully used in Canada to combat unemployment after the Second World War. The Bank of Canada was ordered to make virtually interest-free loans to provinces, municipalities, and cities for infrastructure projects: roads, highways, bridges, rail lines, ports—today we could include hospitals, urban and inter-urban passenger rail lines, and water and sewage treatment plants. These facilities improved access to resources and to markets, and the increased economic activity enabled the borrowing agencies to quickly repay the loans — which were then retired, so that the injection of capital was non inflationary.

That construction activity, initiated after the war by PM Mackenzie King, touched off the longest-lasting economic boom in Canadian history. And when the loans were repaid, the permanent infrastructure was still there. It’s a good plan.

Yes, today, our infrastructure is crumbling, and the solution the Conservative Party is offering could have been a very good one but because they are creating “Funds” instead of “Zero Interest Loans” they are, in effect, creating yet another “Debt Growth Plan.”

Now, the Conservative Party could come out and say they are going to use the Bank of Canada to finance their Economic Action Plan at zero interest but then the honourable thing to do is to give some credit to Liberal Mackenzie King or CHP Canada. Given that they ended their survey by asking which party you would vote for if an election was held today: Conservative Party of Canada, Liberal Party of Canada, New Democratic Party, Green Party of Canada, the Bloc Québécois, or Undecided… and not a mention of CHP or at the least “Other,” we can be assured that that won’t happen.

CHP Canada readily acknowledges that the idea behind the economic plan that we adopted over a decade ago was Liberal Mackenzie King. A great idea is worth reusing. For more plans for Canada that will work in the future visit www.chp.ca

A few months ago I wrote a CHP Speaks Out about the 491 Canadian babies born alive and simply left to die. Breaking news as of late is the U.S. murder trial against abortionist Kermit Gosnell in which witnesses are testifying to the horrific details of how babies that survived abortions have had their spinal columns cut with scissors. If you are following that trial, you’ll know that I put that mildly.

It should be said that some cowardly media outlets have chosen not to cover the Gosnell murder trial. This so-called media has morphed from reporting the facts, to interpreting the facts and now to withholding the facts because the facts are contrary to their interpretation or particular bias.

So now back to the 491. When will the abortionists responsible for those Canadian deaths be brought to trial? I haven’t heard anything on that front, have you? If the “march is on” per se, why not make the 491 the battle ground? Who’s been left responsible for that investigation and is that where the march is being held? If not, why not?

Such a court case would open the doors of the abortion clinics, burst their bubble, and expose the atrocities hidden within. Opening those doors can bring an army of support nation-wide. It was once thought that it was only the silent cries that needed to be defended; now for 491 babies, their cries were audible. Never before in the history of the prolife movement should a greater outcry be made. Now is the time for the actual battle to begin.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d be the last to discourage people from marching at the March for Life, I’m just asking that they question where they are marching to. To impact Ottawa, I truly believe that the work has to be done by a political party. The growing strength of a political adversary speaks volumes and will impact legislation far before it ever elects a member to parliament.

The news in last week’s Communiqué about the CHP BC running candidates in BC’s current provincial election received accolades from our CHP membership across Canada. It’s as if a sparkle of light showed its face. That’s the point isn’t it? Joining forces under one umbrella is the solution, and God-fearing people can understand that it’s for that reason the prolife and legislative leadership required to make unification happen have been made blind to that need for unity.

As I pointed out in my communiqué about a year ago, “Their Manipulation + Our Disunity = Human Sacrifice” is an ongoing saga.

So, in addition to the March for Life this week, I suggest the leaders of the prolife movement initiate actual battles that can begin on two fronts. First, recognize the battleground and fight to the death – the blood of 491 children has made that one easily identifiable.

Secondly, the Christian Heritage Party of Canada strengthened by its CHP Provincial Parties, has the prolife membership, delegates, and policies to change the course of history. The CHP is the political solution to end these atrocities. You’ll find me there.

It’s time for all pro-lifers, lobby groups, coalitions, camps, Knights, women’s leagues, men’s leagues, and prayer groups nation-wide, to join, support, and mobilize as one united force under the federal and/or provincial CHP. This type of movement would send an immediate shock wave across Canada’s political landscape.

The Lord commands a blessing where there is unity.

The Christian Heritage Party is celebrating!!! While the celebratory party is in British Columbia, we are celebrating this historical event nationwide!

The Christian Heritage Party is celebrating!!! While the celebratory party is in British Columbia, we are celebrating this historical event nationwide!

For the first time in the 26-year history of the Christian Heritage Party, some Canadians will now have the opportunity to vote for a CHP candidate in a provincial election. It been a long road filled with many obstacles and challenges but, with perseverance and hard work, we have an exciting new beginning. Well done to all those making CHP BC a political reality.

On May 14th B.C. will go to the polls. CHP BC candidate Rod Taylor is representing the electoral district of Stikine and Donald Roberts is representing the electoral district of Prince George-Valemount. They will both be offering some unique and refreshingly solid conservative solutions in their CHP provincial platforms.

Of the policies of the nineteen political parties running in this election CHP BC’s better solutions are certainly down-to-earth and simply good and honest politics. Let’s look as some of the party platform, which, as a provincial party, is unique to British Columbia:

Democratic reform by eliminating “vote-splitting” with preferential balloting; free votes in the Legislature;

Environmental solutions which would end chemical-based “weather modification” programs and review of pesticide use;

Boost the economy by restricting exports of B.C.’s raw natural resources and promoting value-added processing, refining, and packaging within the province. Creating jobs for British Columbians!

Protect human life by providing more care facilities for the elderly, providing the best palliative care, and not assisted suicide. Defund abortion and demand access to information on abortion statistics;

Protect free speech and eliminate the NDP created “bubble zones” around abortion mills;

Choices in education to allow equal public funding for independent and charter schools;

Get rid of the B.C. Government’s addiction to gambling; it’s a tax on the poor; and

Pay off B.C.’s debt and introduce mandate balanced budget legislation.

CHP BC’s platform for election 2013 is certainly a reflection of their motto, which reads, “Together, we will build a better future by keeping the best from our past and adding the experience of the present.”

Today, the electoral districts of Stikine and Prince George-Valemount have raised the standard for the Christian Heritage Party nationwide and they have demonstrated the viability and the credibility of our party to all those who can vote CHP in both federal and provincial elections.

The candidates will need much prayer. May the Lord guide us all as we give them our united support for their courageous efforts on behalf of The Christian Heritage Party of British Columbia.

Our national office applauds CHP BC in being our first provincial building block and trusts that they will be an encouragement and incentive to the other provinces and territories to get organized in like manner.

Of all the commentaries from various experts in the aftermath of the Boston bombings last week there was one comment coming out of Israel that, I believe, hit the nail on the head.

Of all the commentaries from various experts in the aftermath of the Boston bombings last week there was one comment coming out of Israel that, I believe, hit the nail on the head. An expert in Tel Aviv said, “…once these types of people are in your crowds it’s too late.” So, this begs the question, “How do you keep these types of people out of your crowds?”

The answer, of course, is to implement the Christian Heritage Party’s policy on immigration. Now, some who know our policy have questioned, “Is that really necessary?”

Consider the unimaginable years of trauma family members will suffer living with the fact that body parts of their son, daughter, or mother had to be gathered up off the sidewalk in Boston. Do you want that for your family? Added to that, this cold brutality is because Islamic ideology considers your family as ”infidels,” of “no value,” simply “disposable” human pawns to kill in order to spread terror. Why terror? They use terror in order to achieve an eventual Islamic State in the U.S.A., Canada, and worldwide. That is the bottom line.

Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? Well it is ridiculous, and the media and our governments are breaking public trust when they don’t inform Canadians of the truth in these matters. The people must be informed in order to demand that our legislators proactively and effectively curtail this infiltration. If they won’t, if they treat those who hold the solution like fools, if they ignore the need for much-needed stringent policies, they make each of us vulnerable as we attend the charity events that our culture loves to support.

After 9/11, an unconventional war was declared, with no specific country the target, and that war rages on today. Those in Boston must have felt like sitting ducks in the middle of open hunting season. Why, when you hear about so much being done to combat terrorism? Much is being done but one major thing is being avoided, and that is keeping these people out of our crowds. Interesting, eh? Why not get tough on immigration? Our mainstream media has already been silenced destroying in one quick stroke our culture of freedom of the press. I suspect governments are silent because they fear the underlying threats these people pose within the positions they already hold in our country. As well, mass immigration sadly brings in an attractive block of votes for the government in power.

So, what is necessary? CHP Canada would immediately overhaul Canada’s current unsustainable policy of mass immigration, because CHP Canada recognizes that immigration is being used as a subtle and hidden form of jihad designed to undermine Canada’s Judeo-Christian culture.

CHP Canada would immediately impose a moratorium on immigration from any Muslim nation and, in the meantime, work with the Canadian Muslim community until the terrorist threat is removed.

Also, CHP Canada would deny immigration to any person who advocates an ideology known to pose a threat to Canadians and Canadian society. This act alone would inhibit radical jihadists from forcing Canadian Muslims to “obey or else.”

Many European countries, including France, Germany, Holland, and Norway, waited too long and are now admitting that accepting the promulgation of this ideology within their borders has been a major mistake. Great Britain was asleep and had developed only inadequate immigration laws. She is now dealing with people from this strident cultural group who insist that Britain (which they chant must “burn in hell”) accept the Islamic tenets of the countries they have left behind. Canada must be proactive now in ensuring the needed laws are in place and every breath of or hint of Sharia be opposed.

Yes, many Muslims do come to Canada with the intent to integrate into our society and to abide by our Charter of Rights and Freedoms; however their good intentions can be and will be abruptly trumped by the demands of radical clerics. The clerics own the show and they will demand that peace loving Canadian Muslims get out in the streets and protest alongside them or “bear the consequences!”

Canada needs tougher legislation and we need parliamentarians with the courage to speak and act today on every weakness in our laws to protect us from what made Boston vulnerable to this type of atrocity.

CHP Canada would see that Islamic bullies would be tracked, stopped, arrested, and if need be, deported back to their country of origin.

Canada must increase the resources needed for screening. We must reduce the levels of immigration and refugee claims to levels that can be adequately screened for fraudulent claims, security, and criminal risks. The Canadian immigration system is inadequate to secure our nation from the threats posed by terrorism. The above steps are just a beginning. Our full immigration policies are available here.

To sum up, on behalf of the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, I express our heartfelt condolences to all those who were directly affected by this senseless act and we thank the police, agents, and countless individuals for their courageous acts of bravery under fire.

As was expected, the son of Pierre Elliot Trudeau was crowned the new leader of the Liberal Party of Canada Sunday evening.

As was expected, the son of Pierre Elliot Trudeau was crowned the new leader of the Liberal Party of Canada Sunday evening.

A few years ago, at the time of the Liberal Party implosion, I pointed out that the Liberals didn’t need a Bob Rae or a Justin Trudeau to revive their party. Rather, what they needed was a new platform because the Harper government had taken possession of their Liberal platform. Now, aside from getting rid of a few no-brainers like Kyoto and the long gun registry the Harper administration has so blurred and confused the lines that the word “conservative” is a misnomer to say the least.

Yes, Sunday night in a last ditch effort, the liberal party delegates bet their hope on the strength remaining in the Trudeau name to re-ignite the party. Hope that Liberals, who defected over the years to NDP, Green, and to Harper’s Conservatives, will return to the Liberals. Yes, hope that a renewed Trudeaumania will provide the catalyst needed to ignite new young voters amass and revive the older ones.

Justin in his inaugural speech focused on “hope.” He didn’t hint at any new Liberal platform that was going to defeat the Conservative majority or speed up the pending implosion of Mulcair fiasco, nope… he talked about “positive politics, listening to Quebec, working harder, and hope!” Yes, hope!

So what about hope?

In speech after speech the Liberals talked about how Mr. Harper devalued our nation and they went on to reminisce about the great Canada we once had. They went so far as to give all the credit for that greatness to the actions of former political leaders and at times even pointing to themselves. So whom did they miss thanking?

Considering our Constitution that categorically states that our county’s foundation is founded on the supremacy of God, it is sad that this new young Liberal leader gave no thanks, recognition, or even a mention to God for the esteemed position he has risen to. After all, we know that all wisdom comes from God and Justin will need as much of that as he can garner as do all our leaders. As well, they have to recognize that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and most importantly, Justin should know that those who do not place their trust in God are said to be without hope.

Too often I hear how strong our Canadian Banks are in comparison to other counties, Bloomberg May 2, 2012 announces “Canadians Dominate World’s 10 Strongest Banks”

Too often I hear how strong our Canadian Banks are in comparison to other counties, Bloomberg May 2, 2012 announces “Canadians Dominate World’s 10 Strongest Banks”

As far back as Oct 2008, CTV News reported Prime Minister Harper on the likelihood of bank bailouts in Canada. “There is no question, no possibility, of bailing out the banks,” he said at a campaign stop in Richmond, B.C. “The banks aren’t seeking to be bailed out, the government won’t be bailing them out. That isn’t going to happen.”

So today, we can understand how our Prime Minister is planning to ensure that it doesn’t happen. In his government’s recent federal budget titled Economic Action Plan 2013, on pages 144 states:

The Government proposes to implement a bail-in regime for systemically important banks. This regime will be designed to ensure that, in the unlikely event that a systemically important bank depletes its capital, the bank can be recapitalized and returned to viability through the very rapid conversion of certain bank liabilities into regulatory capital. This will reduce risks for taxpayers.3

So the Prime Minister kept to his promise of no bail outs; instead it’s going to be a “bail-in.”

First, this says a few things doesn’t it? It’s an admission that our government is at fault for not putting in place a mechanism so Canadian banks cannot and should not ever deplete their capital. Second, they claim this new scheme ”bail-ins,” is to protect the taxpayer when it’s really to protect the bankers and government mismanagement. So what’s a bail-in then?

The wool they are trying to pull over your eyes is this: instead of having the taxpayer pay for the bail-out due to poor management of the banks and poor decision making of the government, the government is now going to allow the banks (when they run into trouble) to default on what they owe to certain depositors. Mind you, they word it in a fashion which almost sounds legitimate: “…the very rapid conversion of certain bank liabilities into regulatory capital.” Translated, that actually says, “…before you realize what’s happening we are going to confiscate certain people’s deposits and tell the world banks our capital is secure.” Interesting?

So, what’s actually happening that our government would dare to make such utterly irresponsible decisions? What does this new “template” for protection really say about our government’s confidence in our banking system? On April 5, 2013, StockhouseBlog put it this way: “Going forward, this is expected to be the “template” for dealing with risky, over-levered banks and the countries which support them.”

Now if Bloomberg is right in that Canada dominates the world’s banking system, then what does that say about the state of the world’s banking system and monetary stability worldwide?

They pull the wool over the eyes of the sacrificial lambs (taxpayers and depositors) to prevent them from discovering that in reality it’s the lucrative banks that are asking for protection and the scheme gives the government some type of last-ditch defence.

The Christian Heritage Party would take the following steps to protect taxpayers and depositors:

1) We would reinstate the statutory reserve system that was abolished by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney in 1991. That would control the amount of money artificially created by the charter banks. These reserves would require the charter banks to retain a percentage of their customer’s deposits to offset the loans issued by the banks. This step alone would reduce the risk of any bank depleting its capital.

2) We would also begin to reinstitute the Bank of Canada as the primary source for needed government funds. Today, the charter banks create our money as interest-bearing debt, a dubious process that devalues our currency, diminishes our standard of living, and that must be eventually paid back with taxpayers’ funds, along with continuously compounding interest.

The transition to greater reliance on the Bank of Canada for new, interest-free money would protect the value and integrity of our currency, while the requirement for capital reserves would control the amount of debt-money created by the commercial banks. We see this as a double-edged sword for fighting debt and dependency. Securing the savings of Canadian depositors and protecting taxpayers from yet more cash grabs is important work and we’re ready to take on the charter banks to do it.

Life—most of us know—has its ups and downs. Some writers have characterized it as “three steps forward and two steps back.” Whether it’s health, finances, career or relationships, almost everyone has experienced setbacks and obstacles on the road to success. Occasionally, we may find ourselves going through an “open door” of Providence in the form of an opportunity or a promotion.

In politics, history is riddled with stunning examples of powerful personalities who have struggled for years with disappointments and repeated failures before their historic moment in the spotlight on the world stage. Abraham Lincoln was defeated in many elections before winning the one that sealed his name in history and put him in the centre of a divided nation. Winston Churchill lurched through an extended period of agonizing obscurity before being called on by his nation and by God to defend Western civilization from the Nazi scourge that nearly overwhelmed it in WWII. Sometimes a relatively minor event can change the course of history.

Nations and their rulers rise and fall; men and women—both the powerful and the seemingly insignificant—come on the stage, play out their roles, and return to the earth. Some are remembered with gratitude. Some are remembered with horror. Most are remembered for but a short time, except by their families and friends. Circumstances, personalities, and timing all intersect under the sovereign hand of God. History as a whole (including our bit-parts in it) unfolds before us, marked and influenced by our responses to the actions of others and our acts of obedience or disobedience to the call of God.

What does all this have to do with “Snakes and Ladders?” And what does a game of chance have to do with the deliberate and courageous actions of one MP? The MP referred to is, of course, Mark Warawa, MP for Langley, relatively unknown until recently. And the analogy of “Snakes and Ladders” brings to mind the corporate ladder, the social-political ladder that so many politicians have climbed, rung after rung, desperately seeking the pinnacle of power, or at least a place close to the top. In the board game by that name, landing on a ladder takes you up in a hurry; but landing on a snake takes you back down to a lower station and you have to start all over again.

Last week, Mr. Warawa stepped on a snake; at least it appeared that he did. But then he turned a disappointing setback into a “teachable moment” for Canada. He was expecting to be able to debate and vote on his Motion-408, calling on the House to condemn sex-selective abortion, otherwise known as “gendercide.” On Thursday, March 21, he received a shock when the Subcommittee on Private Members’ Business ruled—contrary to fact and reason—that his motion was “non-votable,” effectively blocking it from debate in the House. A member with less courage and determination might have accepted this setback and quietly said to himself, “At least I tried.” But not Mr. Warawa. Mr. Warawa looked at the ruling, examined the facts, and determined that he had been unfairly silenced and that his motion should have been deemed votable. Mr. Warawa declared his intention to seek a remedy through appealing the decision to the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs. Then he got yet another surprise.

He planned to speak about the issue during the one minute allotted to him to deliver an S.O. 31, a privilege all members have. However, his speaking slot was cancelled 15 minutes before his speech was to be given because of the “topic.” Mr. Warawa once again rose to the occasion. Without waiting for a ladder of chance or a blessing from the PM, Mr. Warawa and several colleagues went toe-to-toe with the Party Whip, asking the Speaker to rule in favour of free speech for elected MPs.

The situation has continued to unfold, with closed caucus sessions, committee meetings in camera and various opinions being offered by members of other parties seated in the House, none of whom want to debate sex-selective abortion, yet concerned about the loss of freedom of speech. A confluence of events, personalities, and circumstances have created a special moment in Canadian political history and the obedience of one brave MP has made Canadians aware of the “democracy deficit” in Ottawa and more aware of the issue of gendercide.

Mr. Warawa did not do any of this to draw attention to himself. Nobody enjoys being muzzled, isolated, and rejected. Mr. Warawa took a stand on principles and he refused to budge, regardless of personal cost. In doing so, he was given a ladder right to the top. His obedience and determination have earned him a place in history. Leader of the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, Mr. Jim Hnatiuk, has offered a salute to the Hon. Mark Warawa, with gratitude for the courage of his convictions. Mr. Hnatiuk assured future CHP MPs that they will never experience the type of muzzling in the CHP that Mr. Warawa has gone through but will always have the freedom to represent their constituents and to express their conscience-guided concerns.

After all, political integrity is not a game of chance but the result of faithful obedience to principles. May we see much more of that in Ottawa than we have in the past. Perhaps Mr. Warawa has set an example many other MPs will want to follow. Let us hope so. Our nation hangs in the balance.

If you’re concerned about the concentration of power in the Prime Minister’s Office and the bullying of MPs through partisan conformity and “whipped votes,” be sure to join CHP Canada, the only federal party promising free votes to its MPs and the only federal party supporting the “protection of innocent human life from conception to natural death.”

As lobby groups and a few well meaning MPs (who risk their jobs) try to find new strategic ways to force the tongues of wolves to debate the fate of the lambs, the mass slaughter of the born and preborn goes on unhindered.

As lobby groups and a few well meaning MPs (who risk their jobs) try to find new strategic ways to force the tongues of wolves to debate the fate of the lambs, the mass slaughter of the born and preborn goes on unhindered.

What are the possibilities for success in lobbying the government when MPs have been unable to move them? You realize, of course, that they have just passed a stupidity bill giving grown men (who think they are women) legal rights to the same bathroom from which you await your daughter’s return. It’s difficult to determine where the stupidity lies when we elect and then pay these decision makers over one hundred thousand dollars a year.

Now there is a solution but it depends on whether or not the various flavours of Christians can love and work with their neighbour long enough to get the job done; as I put it in last week’s Communiqué, “White Smoke,” to get off their “high horse” and do something together. Heaven forbid! I wasn’t suggesting they try to agree on matters of dogma and doctrine or the affairs of the Church, but simply to work together as neighbours, constructively, in politics.

Roman Catholics, Protestants, and those who appreciate the need to have biblical moral principles of right and wrong (righteousness) undergird legal and illegal (civil law) activities contain the unharnessed power to change the course of history in Canadian politics. Policies and programs that are beneficial to Canadians can arise from the principles they agree on – policies that we can all agree with for the betterment of families and future generations.

Faiths are often in different camps and most are worlds apart. Apples, oranges, and the odd raisin aren’t the same and never will be. They can come together to make a good fruit salad, which is where the Christian Heritage Party comes in. We work together committed to the betterment of the country because we share mutual desires to have civil law that reflects moral law.

An “Elucidation” drafted in 2012 went to great lengths to explain the meaning behind the principles of the Christian Heritage Party of Canada. It explains that CHP principles:

[A]acknowledge and affirm the understanding and acceptance of authority in the Roman Catholic Church such that the Magisterium, which is provided through Apostolic Succession and communion with the Successor of Peter manifests divine authority; and therefore represents a difference between Protestants and Roman Catholics fully understood at the time of the Party’s foundation, yet without prejudice [injury] to the Party’s promulgated establishment for the cause of a shared singular political goal, under the common umbrella of the Party, which is not a Church, but rather a vehicle through which Christians of different background may find that integrity of principle and practise, that allows them to participate and be engaged politically in the public square as citizens of the Dominion of Canada.

To join the party one only has to agree to the statement that: Canada’s heritage, culture, and rule of law, as referenced in the preamble to the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, are rooted in the understanding that “God” refers to the God of the Bible, and that the purpose of civil government is to ensure security, freedom, and justice for all its citizens from conception till natural death, by upholding just laws.

Lobbying government is not the business of CHP Canada. Our purpose and business is to form government. We use different methods to achieve our purpose and when people unite under the CHP umbrella for this common cause (yes that means different denominations working together as neighbours), then we’ll have the wolves on the run, all babies given their legal right to life, men directed to their proper washrooms, and solid social and fiscal conservative policies returned to our nation.

Today, take this opportunity and join a political party that can, with the support of Canadians, restore legitimacy to government by restoring morality to government.

I looked upon the last few hours leading up to the selection of the new Pope with possibly a different mindset than many.

I looked upon the last few hours leading up to the selection of the new Pope with possibly a different mindset than many. Watching the nearly one hundred and fifty thousand people waving jubilantly and waiting untiringly in St. Peter’s square for the new Pope to emerge recaptured in me some confidence in Christian people.

In reality, for every one person who had the privilege of making it to the Vatican for this event, there had to be a thousand more watching on television. The significance and the potential power of millions of Christians around the world uniting for one purpose, for one event, should make those who oppose them sit up and have second thoughts. But that really isn’t the case, is it? Why not?

“There’s just one problem,” says David Kupelian, in writing about all Christians, “they have been seduced by the marketers of evil… and unfortunately, once the churches – the fortresses of America’s goodness and strength – are overcome, there is no longer a substantial defence against the forces of corruption.” Which is to say that those who rule over us, those who oppose our Judeo-Christian principles, know very well that Christians in their day-to-day lives are dormant and/or have taken shelter.

Therefore, during events like these, if Christians themselves could wake up to the fact that united, they not only would be able to celebrate an event taking place, but much more importantly, they would have the power to change a nation, or even a world. United, they could use their gatherings, their pulpits, and the voting booths to take back their country.

Mark Twain once said of Christians: “It will be conceded that a Christian’s first duty is to God. It then follows, as a matter of course, that it is his duty to carry his Christian code of morals to the polls and vote them. Whenever he shall do that, he will not find himself voting for an unclean man, a dishonest man. If Christians would vote their duty to God at the polls, they would carry every election, and do it with ease. Their prodigious power would be quickly realized and recognized, and afterward there would be no unclean candidates upon any ticket, and graft would cease. If the Christians of America could be persuaded to vote God and a clean ticket, it would bring about moral revolution that would be incalculably beneficent. It would save the country.”

I, having had the misfortune of being orphaned at the age of six and living through the whirlwind of life experiences that followed, have been afforded a certain boldness about faith and denominations. I owe it to the Roman Catholics who instilled in me at a young age a much-needed structured spiritual foundation. Later, the Ojibwa People gave me an appreciation for people and the land; after that, various Protestant denominations allowed me the freedom (with some helpful direction) to seek out the true meaning of life. No denomination can claim the credit for my salvation, which comes from Christ alone. He alone brought me into the personal relationship I cherish with Him today.

I explain all this to hopefully help some of my readers to understand why I find division between Christians so frustrating. Disunity is un-Christian and very much a terrible waste of all our valuable time. I am truly a respecter of all denominations and I can say with certainty that if Christians don’t get off their high-horse religious pedestals and unite for the cause, it is their own stubbornness that will lead to our nation’s demise.

Let it be known that the Christian Heritage Party doesn’t belong to any particular denomination. It belongs to all Canadians who wish to see biblical principles reflected in public policy. That’s our Canadian heritage! If you’re awake, then let’s join forces and let white smoke signify to the world our united surrender to the God of this universe; let’s allow Him to part those waters which divide us and move those mountains which seem to stand in our way. In unity, we can accomplish much.
