Jim Hnatiuk, Leader

Son of a blacksmith, much of Jim's early education was received from a boy's boarding school taught by Oblate Priests. After 25 years of military service within the Combat Systems Engineering Department in the Canadian Forces, Jim attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer 1st Class and retired with Certificate of Service and Canadian Decoration.

Jim married his Nova Scotia bride Ellen, his support and constant companion thirty-five years ago. Together they have a son, a daughter and two wonderful grandchildren.

Jim spent years within the United and Presbyterian churches ministering to and helping teens get off the street. Jim is a devout Christian, and holds in respect all denominations and faiths. He is presently a Deacon at Emmanuel Baptist Church.

For his many years of volunteer work in his community, Jim has been recognized with Certificates of Appreciation. In small business, Jim established a construction laser service centre as well as the largest hunting, fishing & taxidermy business in Nova Scotia.

Jim's diverse experience and professional training is now an asset, providing him with the sensitivity and leadership to work in the political arena.

Jim’s drive is fuelled by his passion for Canada and the future of this country. “The family unit is what builds a community and our country; the government would do well to focus on protecting it.”

Rod Taylor, Deputy Leader

Rod TaylorRod, man of Christian integrity, and a dedicated servant of his country, brings a clear vision and a caring compassion to his role as Deputy Leader.

Rod has been married to Elaine for 34 years and he has 2 children and 3 grandchildren, all living in Northwest BC. He has spent the bulk of his career in British Columbia, working in the lumber industry. His experience includes working for Canadian National Railways, horse logging, tree-planting and log-building. He has been a Board Member of the Bulkley Valley District Hospital Society, Past President of the Bulkley Forest Products Association, a founding member of the Bulkley Valley Community Resource Board, Past President of the Bulkley Valley Christian Literature Society and have been for many years a Board Member of the Smithers Pro-Life Society.
