Politically, consider the organization that was birthed by a coalition of 26 nations who signed a declaration of mutual trust and commitment in 1945. This declaration pledged the full resources of signatory nations to defeat the powers that oppose democratic values—those values which our allied forces fought to protect. Sadly, the United Nations has now altered so much from its origins that trying to return it to its original mandate is beyond hope.
Thousands of Canadians in blue berets, with our allies over past decades, have made significant and honourable contributions to the UN’s mandate. Having myself been deployed on numerous occasions with our NATO troops overseas, I was certainly proud to be a part of those worldwide peacekeeping efforts. But, in what seems to have become commonplace among well-intentioned organizations, the people at the helm have either fallen asleep or they themselves, the so-called guardians of the peaceful and democratic nations of the world, have been corrupted by the lure of money and power. The UN’s direction, values, and objectives have so drastically changed that those corrupt powers that the United Nations was originally created to combat are actually now in charge and using the strength of the organization to further their own wicked cause.
Consider the parasitoid wasp. The adult lays its eggs inside a caterpillar and the larvae eat the host to survive. The caterpillar host does not survive the process. If we look at the UN today, we see that same process. The original purpose of the UN as a protector of human rights did not survive because those who violate the rights have been placed in charge and have consumed it from the inside out.
Today, the UN is ineffective in dealing with terrorism, tyranny, and human rights violations. While thousands of people die under tyrannical regimes, they push to slaughter millions of people through abortion. They subvert the laws of sovereign nations by enforcing their directives through organizations such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. They oppose the only democracy in the Middle East by sanctioning Israel for terrorism, all the while turning a blind eye to the nations who spawn real terrorism.
Now, let’s look at Canada to see why I can say this turn of events within the UN is commonplace among well intentioned organizations.
Take Tom Mulcair’s New Democratic Party of 2012 and compare its party principles and beliefs to that of its first party leader, Baptist minister Tommy Douglas; The NDP has been consumed by a different vision for Canada.
Closer to home, take Stephen Harper’s so called Conservative Party and try to find anything socially or fiscally conservative left in it. It has been consumed from the inside to become liberal in its policies and platform. That sounds a bit like the parasitoid wasp; the conservative values have been eaten away from the inside, leaving only the dead shell of the “Conservative” Party. Should anyone waste their time and finances trying to restore it to its original intended values?
As English philosopher Edmund Burke said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph [of evil] is for good men to do nothing.”
Good people are on the move; they have left their cocoon, where they saw nothing, heard nothing and did nothing.
I entered politics when I left the military, awoke, and saw the sad situation here at home. I became involved with the Christian Heritage Party of Canada because I saw that the major political parties in Canada had digressed to the point where trying to influence them to return to their original values was beyond hope.
Yes, CHP Canada has not yet achieved the size or public stature of the mainline parties now seated in the House but, one-by-one, Canadians are awakening to the nation’s sorry state and are appalled to see how far we’ve fallen from our beginnings. Comparing our freedoms and equalities of today with those we have enjoyed in the past, we can begin to see the increasing internal voids where the parasites have consumed us…from the inside out.
Before Canada’s heritage becomes a mere shell, now is the time to make a fresh start, to bring back the fundamentals of law and order, freedom and equality to Canadian politics. We in the CHP are not driven by the shifting sands of political pragmatism. Rather we are a party that has anchored itself to unalterable principles to ensure that we maintain our course as we gain political recognition and power in Canada.
CHP Canada has long recognized the values that the UN, at its founding, swore to protect. See our better solutions and vote for our Canadian values of law, order, freedom, rights, and democracy with your membership. Join today!
