First of all, don’t let the name Christian Heritage Party suggest to you that this political party is about giving preferential treatment to Christians; nothing could be farther from the truth! Rather, our purpose is to put Christians to work for the betterment of Canada. That’s right, remember the Christian work ethic? We need Christians serving their fellow Canadians, in the public square where we belong. It’s time we put all that good (pulpit) teaching to work in making this a better nation. In other words, it’s time to get our hands dirty, folks!
Forget the excuse, “I believe in the separation of church and state.” Yes! As do we. No one knows better the meaning and the importance of keeping this separation intact then those in the Christian Heritage Party. Increasingly, our governments violate the separation of church and state by using the long arms of the Human Rights Commissions to do their dirty work. Pastors, priests, churches, and charities are being threatened constantly to “keep quiet” about certain moral issues or the government will remove their charitable tax status. That’s called government ‘blackmail’ and CHP Canada means to ensure the government keeps their paws out of the affairs of the church.
Our freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom of assembly, and freedom of religion are Christian principles! So, without Christians influencing public policy and federal legislation, Canadians are doomed to lose these rights and the heritage our parents and grandparents long enjoyed. This is known as government ‘tyranny.’ What do we exchange for our freedoms? The tyranny of government that will tell us what we’re allowed to think, what we’re allowed to say, where we’re allowed to go, and what we must believe. Wait a minute! Wasn’t that tried and didn’t it fail in Russia? Didn’t Hitler try that? Come to think of it there are countries around the world that are still doing that and…there’s nobody lining up to immigrate to those countries. They want to be here, in Canada, where our Christian freedoms still survive.
Take our national debt, $560,000,000,000, which is increasing at a rate of about $100,000,000 every day! This is known as government ‘theft.’ It’s theft from our children and grandchildren who will have to pay it back because we, who spent it, will be long dead. CHP Canada means to immediately return to balanced budgets and pay down that debt. You may recall the phrase “thou shalt not steal”…another good ole fashioned Christian principle.
How about our right to assemble? Protesting in the streets of Moscow wasn’t very common during the time of Stalin and Khrushchev as those atheistic regimes lacked any resemblance to the Christian principles which provide Canadians that freedom. But then again, that is starting to change, isn’t it: look at Linda Gibbons who has spent eight years in prison because she spoke to women on a public sidewalk in Toronto. A 20 year old “temporary” injunction says she can’t speak to women outside of an abortuary. Well, we’re still freer than they were in Tiananmen Square where they shot protesters in cold blood just over 20 years ago. That can be our consolation!
Yes, Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians, Jews, Atheists, Agnostics, all faiths in Canada have to be thankful for our Canadian Christian Heritage. Every Canadian should be lining up to support the Christian Heritage Party. We are the only federal political party that will expose government violations of our freedoms and that is genuinely willing to protect the freedoms of every Canadian from increasing government interference.
This is the heritage CHP Canada will stand with you to defend and to protect. Because, it must be defended or we will be the last generation to truly remember it. Our forefathers were willing to defend freedom, but I’m sure they’d be first to tell you that there is a price that must be paid. Are we willing to pay that price for the sake of future generations? That’s what historic Christianity has taught for millennia.
Yes, we have some good Christian men and women in parliament but they are unfortunately told what to say and when to say it by the secular whips of the parties they represent. Sadly, the mainstream political parties have succumbed to the seduction of power. It takes the recognition of a greater Power than yourself, who will require an accounting of your behaviour, to retain the resolve to govern with integrity.
