Canada needs a ‘Christian Caucus’ in parliament to support Christian MPs who want to stand and speak their convictions on behalf of their constituents. Why? Because Canadians would benefit by the return of our freedoms which have been slowly forfeited at the altar of creeping socialism.
What’s the difference between working hard and deciding to use some of your money for home repairs and working hard to pay taxes so the government can offer you some of your hard earned money back, IF you spend it on home repairs?
The difference is who decides how you spend your money. That’s one of the differences between conservative fiscal values and socialist fiscal values.
At one point, rumour had it that Stephen Harper is a very devout Christian and will turn Canada to the political right once they have a majority government. Well, if that was so, the dream and those rumours have now been put to rest for social conservatives who have read Gerry Nicholls’ new book, Loyal to the Core.
Nicholls, as a twenty year senior officer at the National Citizens Coalition (NCC) Canada’s largestCHP logo independent pro-free market lobby group worked side by side for four years with its president Stephen Harper. In his book which is a ‘must-read’ Nicholls wrote, “Despite the media portrayal of him as an evangelical bible-thumper, Stephen is actually a social moderate. He regarded social conservatism as a political dead end. “Social conservatives just don’t seem to realize they are culturally isolated,” was how he put it to me once. “The world has passed them by.”
Wow, that’s an eye opener! It certainly explains the Conservative Party’s move to the left and why Stephen Harper doesn’t consider crucial moral issues of any significance at all, while social conservatives know they are essential to Canada’s future.
Social and fiscal small ‘c’ conservative Canadians know that our nation needs real leadership that will take solid action to bring solutions to a troubled country lurching from one moral crisis to another.
Most MPs will say they have the freedom to say and vote how they please; they almost have to! But, like the home repairs example, if those MPs don’t spend their vote they way they’re told, they won’t get the subsidy, or rather the cabinet positions.
Canada is being led drastically off its moral course and we need a caucus in parliament whose ‘party line’ is in sync with our Christian members of parliament. CHP Canada is the only federal political party that can make that ‘Christian Caucus’ a reality and give our MPs the ability to steer this ship back on course to freedoms and personal responsibility.
